The procedure of the Therapeutic cloning is the same as the somatic cell nuclear transfer (SCNT).
• First, the nucleus (which contains the genetic material for a human or laboratory animal)
is extracted from an egg.
• Then, the somatic cell (that is any body cell other than an egg or sperm) is taken and the
nucleus is extracted.
• In a realistic situation, the patient would provide the somatic cell.
• The extracted nucleus from the somatic cell is inserted into the egg whose nucleus had
been removed.
• Now, the egg contains the genetic material of the somatic cell and its instructions.
