LÊ NGUYỄN NGỌC ANH – HW7

Part B:

The table indicates how much money was spent by an average Australian family every month in 1991
and 2001.

It can be clearly seen that non-essential goods and services accounted for the largest percentage of
the categories in both years, while spending on clothing had the lowest data. Moreover, most of the
categories increased except clothing and transport.

To begin with, the most well-known type of expenditure was non-essential goods and services which
climbed slightly from 250 to 270 dollars between 1991 and 2001, and also occupied a third of the total
expenditure in both years. The figure for food which stood at 155 dollars in 1991 doubled the data of
electricity and water. The number of food experienced a slight growth from 155 to 160 dollars during
the period; besides, there was a significant rise in the number of electricity and water from 75 to 120
dollars between 1991 and 2001.

On the other hand, a gradual decrease was witnessed in the number of clothing from 30 to 20 dollars
between 1991 and 2001. Transport's 2001 figures, 45 dollars, are reduced to nearly half of the 1991
data, 70 dollars.

The table indicates the percentage of women participating in senior management in three different
companies in the period of 1975-2015.

It is noticeable that Eldan Ltd had the highest number of participants, while Finsbury Ltd reached the
lowest point. However, this was opposite in 1975, when the data of Finsbury Ltd was highest, and tripled
the number of Eldan Ltd. Moreover, the figure for Eldan Ltd and Bamforth Ltd increased significantly,
but Finsbury Ltd grew slightly.

To begin with, the data of Eldan Ltd kept unchanged in the first 5 years. After that, a significant
increase was witnessed in the number of participation of women in senior management from 3% to 33%
between 1980 and 2000. At the end of the period, this number was 64%, which doubled the data of the
year 2000. A similar pattern was seen in the figure for Bamforth Ltd. There was a slight increase in the
number of participants from 9% to 17% between 1975 and 2000 before it went up to 46% in 2015.

In comparison, the data of Finsbury Ltd fluctuated when it fell slightly from 16% to 14% and increased
22% in 1990. The number climbed slowly to 26% until the end of the period.
