Major Duties/Responsibilities:

 Engineering & construction support: Focal point between engineering and


construction, Attend daily meetings with the discipline engineers and Construction
manager to resolve any outstanding issues and take corrective action wherever
required, site change and drawings modification, proposal sketches, as built drawings,
technical queries, method statements, quantities surveying and bill of quantities,
embedded items fabrication database, field sheet for manholes and catch basin and all
underground services, excavation/ backfilling plan.

 Materials: Material submittal, database of material quantities, Prepare the material


procurement plan for the civil requirements and coordinate with the project
procurement manager and the materials controller to ensure the availability of the
same, and consumption record.

 Planning: Tracking progress of all civil activities, advice construction team about
ability and the priorities.

 Quality assurance: Monitors the on-site activities relating to buildings and the civil
engineering infrastructure so as to ensure their conformance with the client
requirements, in particular those relating to health and safety, quality and conformance
with approved construction documentation; Prepares and follows up with non-
conformance notices, in particular the on-site activities relating to the resolution of
non-conformances.

Civil Supervisor
Scope of Responsibilities:
Leads and supervisors a team of civil and Structural Engineers as well as sub-
contractors towards the completion of all civil and structural activities related to
projects in line with QC, client specifications, and schedules.

Duties:
 Study and understand the project plan and client requirements including equipment to
be used, specifications and procurement plan as well as prepare the Method
statements.
 Plan the construction activities along with the construction manager as well as the
various discipline engineers in line with the project plan.
 Instruct the contractors and the sub contractors on the project requirements and share
the project plan with them.
 Prepare the material procurement plan for the civil requirements and coordinate with
the project procurement manager and the materials controller to ensure the
availability of the same.
 Assign Civil Engineers to respective areas or activity as per the requirements of the
project.
 Sign permits and instruct sub-contractors on the work to be done for the day as well as
carry out the toolbox talk.
 On completion of each phase of the construction, inspect and ensure it’s in line with
client’s requirements.
 Coordinate with the QC supervisor/ Inspector for inspection of construction.
 Interact with the commissioning team for the commissioning of equipment as per
client’s requirements and ensure any pending issues with regards to civil are resolved.
 Generate reports on a daily and weekly basis on the status of the project with regards
to civil.
 Attend weekly meetings with the discipline engineers and Construction manager to
resolve any outstanding issues and take corrective action wherever required.
 Coordinate with the certification engineer for the certification requirements of the
client and ensure that all certificates are obtained and documented for easy access
during audits.
 Coordinate with the client on the project – civil requirements and provide feedback on
the status and seeks inputs wherever required.
 Coordinate with the Contracts and the subcontracts managers and administrators for
the generation of variation claims.
 Carry out evaluation of subcontractors and provide feedback for improvement.
 Carry out any other activities as and when required by the supervisor.
