Situation: Proctor and Gamble has long been known for its product development
prowess. You were recently hired the company's public affairs department to manage
the development of a new and unusual product: a book about the history of Proctor and
Gamble's product development efforts. The company plans to use this book for training
purposes. You believe that making the book available to a wider audience would
enhance the company's reputation without giving away any of its secrets. You also know
that you will need professional help to research the book-based on the information in
your archives and on interviews with current and former employees - and to write it.
Doing a bit of research, you learn that you can choose among the four companies
specializing in corporate histories: You choose the names of the four companies you
want. Before your boss will approve this expensive project, you need to prepare a brief
report showing the services offered by each company, some clients served by each and
the recommendations for which the company seems the best fit given Proctor and
Gamble's requirements.

How will you conduct more research?
In conducting more research, you investigate further and you need to identify the
topic. The problem, topic, question, or topic analyzed in the research study is always
present. Do you have a clear view of what you are? If you have not specified the subject
of your research, you will not be able to proceed to the next step. Next, you find the
literature. What is the latest information on this topic? Certainly, a lot of research has
already been done. This study produces results and is probably the answer to some
questions. You have to find this study and these results. To create your own literature,
you need the latest literature. After reviewing the literature and identifying the details of
the initial subject, it is time to clarify the subject. What is the study's scope? If it is too
large, it must be divided into categories and studied separately. There are numerous
factors that can influence a subject, as well as numerous variables. All of this must be
taken into consideration. Always know that every subject has its own set of terms and
concepts. It could be scientific, cultural, or social. These words and phrases will be used
frequently throughout the study. You must understand what they mean and how to
apply them. Reports are not just dissertations. In fact, the words you use will influence
the outcome of the paper as well as how people understand the results and your ideas.
As a result, always define terms and concepts before using them. Last but not least,
your research study will always have an audience. In either case, directly or indirectly. It
is up to you to define who that audience is. It can be a little perplexing at first.
Separating those who will be directly affected by the results of your study from those
who will be less affected by the results of your study can help you clarify your audience
and, of course, focus on the most important parts of the research. After all, working with
a large group of people is unlikely to yield the desired results. The larger the audience,
the more difficult it will be to conduct the study.

What do you need to know to make a recommendation?


To make a recommendation in this report, I need to know the specific information
and details about who they are, why they are qualified, the skills they possess and their
connection with the companies I am recommending.

What is the purpose of your report?


The main purpose of this report is to select a company that will be an ally in the
creation of the book and to recommend someone who meets the Proctor and Gamble
Company's criteria. Furthermore, it disseminates information compiled as a result of
data and issue research and analysis. And, while they cover a wide range of topics,
they usually focus on transmitting information to a specific audience with a clear
purpose.

Describe your audience.


As what I've stated in the first question, I will conduct the research by getting to
know and identify more of the audience: former and current employees, and I will
indulge myself in four companies that specialize in corporate histories. Your research
study will always have an audience. In either case, directly or indirectly. It is up to you to
define who that audience is. It can be a little perplexing at first. Separating those who
are directly affected by the results of your study from those who are not as directly
affected by the results of your study can help you clarify your audience and, of course,
focus on the most important parts of the research. After all, working with a large
audience will not yield the desired results.

The data that I will include in this report are: companies' profiles, achievements,
and backgrounds, as well as other related information such as services that can help
the report succeed.

about the history of Proctor and Gamble's product development efforts that can be used
in training purposes.

It has always been a top-selling and award-winning company due to its enthusiasm,
cost-effectiveness, and quality products. Because the company has a lot to offer, the
creation of a new and unusual product is a must. It is planned to manufacture a product.
This book tells the story of Proctor & Gamble's product development efforts. This book
will be used for training purposes by the company. In light of this, there are four
companies that have demonstrated expertise to be the book's collaborators, but only
one will be chosen. The data were gathered through interviews and observations of
former and current employees and of course, the detailed information about the
companies that deserve to be known.

Purpose: The purpose of this report is to recommend the best company that fits the
given Proctor and Gamble's requirements.

Problem: The Company requires the assistance of a third party to complete the book
about the history of Proctor and Gamble's product development efforts. Because there
are four prospective companies to choose from, thorough research is required to
identify the best company specializing in corporate history.

Discussion:
Criteria
The following criteria were considered when I compared the four top companies:
1. Integration. The primary reason most companies choose one Process Historian over
another is what software they are using in the rest of the process, facility, or company.
2. Budget – Overall. The second driving factor affecting what software to purchase is
budget.
3. Budget - Data Access. The other budgetary component in purchasing a Process
Historian is the associated cost to access non-process data.
4. Underlying Technology. In most business cases the underlying technology you use if
Microsoft Windows based. All of the platforms will work in this environment, however if
you are using a Linux-based system, or Apple Macs you will be limited in your software
selection.
5. Personal Preference and Service. The final factor involved in choosing a Process
Historian is personal preference.

Conclusion: Although Metconnect and Tourish have lower prices, neither meets all of
my requirements. Their service, in particular, is not well-trained. Other integrations are
out of date, and some use technology that is neither environmentally friendly nor
user-friendly. For a better result, I need the service to be available and the integration to
be updated.
Recommendation: Seekingon is the best choice for recommended Company based on
the combination of integration, budget, technology, and service. They can ensure that
they can provide the best book about the history of Proctor and Gamble's product
development efforts with the upgrade of the system and technology.
