Team Policies
⚫ Doors for practice will open up at 6:45 a.m.

⚫ Every player needs to have the proper equipment and


clothes for practice.
⚫ Players can advance or be moved from one team to
another based on different reasons (ex: performance,
coaches discretion etc.)
Team Policies
● There will be consequences based on the coaches discretion for not
following team rules and policies.
● Athletes should be role models on and off the court.
● Athletes must follow and abide the Scoggins and FISD Athletics and
Student Handbook
● Tutorials: Tutorials should be arranged for after school since we
practice in the morning.
● Please notify Coach Evans if your athlete has to attend tutorials by
email.
● Athletes must notify the coach prior to practice.
● Teams Goals (Play Hard, Smart, and Together)
● Supportive Parents and Coaches lead to team success
Attendance
⚫ Athletes need a current physical on a UIL form in order to
participate in basketball.
⚫ Attendance is mandatory; skipping is not allowed

⚫ Practice will take place before school and during the period.

⚫ Notify coaches if you will be absent.

⚫ Injuries-
⚫ Athletes should still attend practices.
⚫ Parent note needed to be excused from
workout (See Coach Hicks)
⚫ If an athlete is unable to work out for
more than 3 consecutive days in a row, a
doctor’s note will be
required.
⚫ If Coaches deem injury serious we will
send athlete to be seen by the trainer

Game Day Policies and
Procedures
⚫ Athletes will not be allowed to participate in
game activities if they have failed a class for
the previous nine weeks and are not passing
every class by the time progress reports comes
around.
⚫ Also, students will not be allowed to participate
in game activities if they go to ISS on the day
of the game.
⚫ We will supply athletes with uniforms and
socks (for the game but not for practice). They
will need to wear the proper shoes for practice
and games if possible.

● 7th Grade will play on Wednesdays and 8th grade on


Thursdays.
● Game times are:
C Team 5:30, B Team 6:30, and A Team 7:30 p.m. with
10 minute between games.

*** Playing time is earned not given: (playing time may


not be equal)

⚫ Please fill out the Travel Form as soon as possible if
you were not in football.
⚫ For home games the A-Team will help set up the gym
and the B/C Teams will clean up after the A-Team
Game
⚫ Parents must sign students out at the end of all 3
games
⚫ Attendance- be at school on game day unless
there are special circumstances.
⚫ Dress- Dress for Success
⚫ Look, Act, Play Professionally
⚫ Dress pants, shirt, tie, dress shoes
⚫ Trouble acquiring items- see Athletic
Coordinator privately
Game Day Meals

● Athletes can bring an extra meal on game day or


have one dropped off after school.
● If after school, parents can drop off meals at the
back door that they come through for practice after
3:55 pm.

If you have a question or concern about an issue
that is not related to playing time or coaching
strategies please contact in this order:

⚫The Head Coach of that Grade
⚫Coordinator ( Joseph Evans) Also let him know
about absences or other important information.
⚫Assistant Principal: Patrick Ferguson
Please do not ask for a meeting after the game
unless there is an emergency.
