‘‘My Eid Fitr Holiday’’

This is my hometown where I spent my childhood. Childhood is a time when

playing is a routine. A time where there is no day without laughter. When I was a child, I

didn’t know about gadgets, Android, or anything else was another type of smartphone. I

don’t know about online games. But, my childhood was very pleasant. Because happy

when childhood is simple. As simple as playing at home, and as simple as playing

bicycles around the village with friends. Talk about my hometown, this is a place where

millions of memories will be stored. The situation in my village was very calm and that

made me feel comfortable while there.

After a full month of fasting in the month of Ramadhan, Eid al-Fitr is definitely

the most awaited moment for Muslims throughout the world. Therefore, all forms of

preparation are carried out to welcome the day. Eid preparation this year is not much

different from the previous year. Started from the prepared of made typical Lebaran

cakes, cleaned the house, and prepared type Lebaran foods such as ketupat, burasa,

chicken opor, chicken soup, etc. And also buy clothes that will be used on the Eid day

later.

D-day before Eid, various shopping centres began to be crowded with visitors

who wanted to the shop for their Lebaran needs. Then in the evening, the entire mosque

echoed takbir and several times followed by the sound of fireworks that added to the

excitement of the Eid celebration. There is a difference that I feel from the celebration of

Eid this year. If in the previous year, residents in my village joined in echoed takbir

together while going around the village. But, this year there was no tradition like that.

The next day, Lebaran finally arrived. In the morning, our family attended the Eid prayer

at the mosque which is not far from our home. After the mosque, I have apologized to all

of my relatives. And then we went around to visited the neighbours who were around our

home. After we finished walking around, we returned home to eat the type of Lebaran

foods which my mother had made. I tasted the soup and other foods until I was

overflowing because I ate too much. Hehehehe….

Like the previous year a week after Eid, the situation of my village had returned

to normal. Which is where we returned to our routine. And I returned to my boarding

house because the holiday was over guys. Anyway, although it’s quite late, I wanna say

Happy Eid al-Fitr 1440 H guys. Thank you!
