Brady Ships Back up to Boston

and Steals Another W

Jack Richmond
10/7/21

Tom Brady and his stacked squad flew into Boston on Sunday knowing how big this game was,
and what it meant to all parties involved. Not many regular-season bouts have had all eyes on
them since it was scheduled, but the homecoming of Tom Brady in Foxboro was set to come
with all the emotions.
As a lifelong Patriots fan, I’ll speak for all Pats fans in saying that watching Tom Brady play for
another team has been as painful as seeing your ex-spouse in public with their new lover as they
cash their winning lottery ticket. As heartbreaking as it is, how can you not be happy for him?
The man did everything for New England for two decades, and the Patriots clearly didn’t have a
Super Bowl roster in 2019 and that has continued. I was anxious to see how the home crowd was
going to react when they saw Brady, but the best fans in the world delivered an eruption of
faithful chants yelling “BRA-DY, BRA-DY”, as they should have. These cheers came as Brady
entered the stadium which makes sense because come kickoff time, the opponent is the enemy
and the only thing that matters is getting that W. So, as the Bucs took the field, they were served
plenty of boos just as any other opponent would.
The Bucs are obviously loaded on both sides of the ball, but Brady has been consistently
throwing darts all over the field this season and Tampa wouldn’t be winning much without him.
On Sunday night Tom completed 22 of 43 pass attempts and threw for 269 yards.
Although Brady was not his absolute best, he came out with the win after a slow-paced back-
and-forth battle. So far, Brady is winning the “Brady vs. Belichick” debate.
