Discharging of Sarens equipment from trucks using crane/ forklift free issue crane by client (if SARENS
required).
Configured equipment is then functional tested to ensure a trouble free operation. SARENS
Upon completion, crane will be tested and certified for use to lift client’s cargo as per local SARENS
regulations.
Clearing working area during the whole work execution, setup of exclusion zone for non-authorized
people. All obstacles in the trailer/crane working area or slew path will be removed by client. The ALL
trailer/crane path for transport and lifting operation route will be covered with steel mats to withstand
the loadings caused by trailer/crane (if required).
Crane crawling by itself the route condition need to be check and maximum driving based on crane SARENS
manual (if required)
Inspection of site conditions (e.g. ground levelness/ ground overall conditions/ ground compaction
strength, space, crane access etc.). An assessment will be made to ensure that client has addressed
the requirements for ground bearing capacity, identified and underground services/installations which ALL
need to be circumvented/protected and removed any obstruction. Earthworks to be prepared by
CLIENT.
To ensure that the level tolerances of the trailers/cranes are not exceeded, a level control of the lift
area will be performed. In general, the cranes may operate with level differences up to +/- 0.1 ALL
degree. Level variations exceeding this, may be accepted, depending on the lifting arrangements
and configurations.
Superlift preparation usually using auxiliary crane and timing for superlift preparation is depend on SARENS
superlift counterweight amount approximately will not be over 3 hour (if required)
All required permits will be applied for, and acquired, prior to the operation. CLIENT
All new personnel involved with the operation will undergo a safety induction to establish a safe
system of work. The entire operations team will receive a comprehensive toolbox talk to ensure ALL
everyone understands their responsibilities throughout the job. This will include a safety briefing
mirroring the Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and instructions for the proper usage of Personal Protective
Equipment (PPE). The phrase “Safety First” will be emphasized.
The lifting tackle will be inspected for condition, correct color code and valid certification prior to the SARENS
lifting operation.
The weather forecast will be checked and conditions will be closely monitored prior to the lifting ALL
operation. In the event of lightening alerts, heavy rainfall, storms, etc. appropriate action will be
taken as per the Job Safety Analysis and Emergency Response Procedure.
The lifting tackle with tag lines will be attached to the crane’s hook as per the approved rigging SARENS
study (if required).
The lifting tackle will be attached to the lifting points of the Cargo, as per the approved rigging study. SARENS
A man-lift or ladder will be used if lifting points are at a great height.
Conformity of the rigging and pre-lifting operations will be checked and signed by Sarens and Client ALL
representative.
A safety check will be carried out to ensure all lifting tackle is secure and the Cargo is free of any SARENS
loose items.
The crane will lift until all the lifting slings are taut. The load will be monitored using the crane’s SLI SARENS
equipment ensuring that the operation is as predicted.
The Cargo will be lifted and continuously checked as it slightly clears the trailer. The load will be SARENS
monitored using the crane’s SLI equipment and checked by the Lifting Supervisor that it is as
predicted.
Confirmation to proceed with the operation will be approved by the Lifting Supervisor. SARENS
The Cargo will be hoisted and slewed in accordance with the approved rigging study until it is SARENS
aligned above the pier/support. During the slewing, the position of the different crane’s components
will be monitored to ensure they do not collide with any plant and equipment.
The Cargo will be checked for proper orientation and lowered its down onto pier/support gradually SARENS
until the load decreases about 50% on the cranes SLI.
Once the Cargo is fully supported by pier/support, the lifting tackle will be released from the lifting SARENS
points by slowly hoisting down the hook.
1. In the case of a site emergency, the CARGO is to be secured by lowering down again onto the
saddles/support, or if not possible, to be remained hoisted in the air clear of all obstructions
depending on the severity of the emergency. Sarens will have to be advised by the RDMP
representative as to which procedure to adopt. SARENS
2. In the case of mechanical failure of the crane, the CARGO is to be lowered to the ground if
possible, if not, the CARGO would be made safe whilst the necessary repairs are carried out.
3. Pre tension the Main Crane & Tailing Crane to approximately 50% of the expected
crane load.
4. Check verticality of hoist lines and attach hand lines to guide the CARGO during the lift and
prevent it from turning towards the crane boom during the lift.
6. Slew the boom of Tailing Crane so that the both Main Crane & Tailing Crane’s booms are
aligned. Main Crane’s to boom down and connect back mast to Superlift tray. The crane
controls and load cell on both cranes’ computer to be monitored by both Cranes’ operator.
Crane operators will only act on instructions of Heavy lift supervisor (and/or Site
Manager/Engineer).
7. The Tailing Crane is to be crawled towards the Main Crane resulting in increasing angle and
this verticality of the CARGO. The radius of the Tailing Crane shall be kept constant at all-time SARENS
unless instructed otherwise by Heavy Lift Supervisor. The crane controls and load cell on both
cranes’ computer to be monitored by both Cranes’ operator. Crane operators will only act on
instructions of Heavy lift supervisor (and/or Site Manager/Engineer).
8. When the Tailing Crane reaches the end of the mats, the boom is to be boomed down to reach
maximum radius where the CARGO will be in vertical position. 100% of the CARGO’s weight is
to be taken by Main Crane.
10. Once the CARGO is lifted, the crane controls and load cell readings on the crane’s computer
are to be monitored by the crane operator.
11. Superlift counterweight’s tray is to be monitored by Heavy lift supervisor and should still lay
firmly on the ground.
12. Once the initial lift is stabilised and sufficient underside’s clearance has been achieved, the lift
radius to be increased and Superlift counterweight’s tray to be monitored by Heavy lift
supervisor to ensure sufficient float has been achieved. Tag lines to be handled appropriately SARENS
to maintain orientation of the CARGO.
Doc. No. : 26071-100-VSC-HL1-00021
13. Once the lift is stabilised, aligned the main boom in parallel with the tracks and travel. The
CARGO is to be slewed onto the foundation area. Tag lines to be handled appropriately to
maintain orientation of the CARGO.
14. Final adjustments can be made using the crane slew, derrick, hoisting and lowering functions.
15. Once in place, the CARGO is to be lowered down over the bolts and touched down onto the
foundations. Upon final set down the full weight of the CARGO is slowly released onto the
foundations.
16. Superlift counterweight tray to be monitored and made sure it is to be set down properly onto
timber mats.
SARENS
17. Alignment & elevation of the CARGO on the foundation to be checked. If it is not satisfactory,
the CARGO is to be lifted up again to make the necessary improvements for correct placement
(e.g. shimming).
19. Lifting tackles to be removed by means of suitable assist equipment (e.g. EWP or crane with
man basket)
20. Once tackle is removed from CARGO, superlift counterweight tray is to be detached from main
crane and main boom to be slewed away from the CARGO area.
