ANNUAL INTERVIEW BY PRINCIPAL OF TEACHERS

Name of Teacher: JOGIE LLAGUNO

Date and Time: August 10, 2021

Guide questions:

1. What is your teaching philosophy?

I believed that being a teacher is not just a profession but also a work of love,
passion, commitment, and dedication. I’m a teacher who’s flexible enough to address
the differences of my students for I do believed that every brain- every student is unique for
each of them have their own way of expressing themselves and as a teacher we must be
able to cope from all those differences.

2. How do you incorporate social-emotional learning in your lessons?

I do incorporate social-emotional learning in my lessons through letting my
students express their own style of learning. I do let them explore on how they are
going to solve a certain situation especially in my subject, Mathematics. In that way I
will build there own self-reliance and self-confidence for they’re able to practice and express
their own thoughts.

3. How do you use technology in the classroom?

The used of technology was a big help to me as a teacher in this new normal
of learning for technology will serve as our mode of communication. I would be able to
deliver my lessons and address the concerns of my students through the used of technology.

4. How do you connect your lessons to the real world?

I do connect my lessons into real-life situations by telling my students the essential
application of that certain lesson in the real world. Afterwards, I would let them explore more
on what are the other things that they can get from my lessons and how they will be able to
apply my lessons.

5. How will you encourage parents to support their children’s education?

I usually encouraged parents to support their children’s education through telling
them how my parents walk me through this success, how they accept and endure all the
challenges so that I would finished my degree. I also tell them that education is the only thing
you can give your children which will last to them forever and as a parents before we plan to
have our children we must all be aware that our primary goal it to provide all the essential
needs of our children and education is one of those responsibility.

6. What are the methods you use to check for understanding as you’re teaching?
I do ask them from time to time if they understand my discussions and if ever they
happen to have difficulty on a certain part I would go back and discuss it again until they
would fully understand the lesson. I also let them answer or solve in the board just for a quick
evaluation.

7. How do you assess students’ progress?

I usually give them a short evaluation quiz after every lesson so that I can monitor if
they get something from my lesson that day.

8. How will you engage reluctant learners?

Whenever I encounter reluctant learners, I do talk to them and ask if they have some
problems in their family, in me or on the subject. If the problem is from their family I usually
let them talk and express what they feel and gave advise and if the problem is they’re
uninterested with my subject I do tell them that Mathematics is very essential in our life and
say that I’m not there to add to their burdens but rather to help and facilitate on which part
they’re having difficulty.

9. What are the three words would your peers, administrators, or students use to describe you?
The three words that I usually hear coming from my peers, administrators, or students
were that I’m approachable, uninterested (to unimportant things), and funny.

10. What do you feel if you can contribute to our school’s PLC for our subject?
I will be honor and grateful being part of our school’s PLC. In this way I will serve as
one of the instrument for our school’s improvement and also I will get a lot of new skills and
knowledge that will help me in the near future.
