Part Two – Analysis
First, about the company's approach, it is not effective. The weakness of this approach is that the
company's efforts are divided equally between web banner ads and email ads, and the four
regions also have the same amount of resources, but the outcome from these are not equal.
According to the data and graph, the total sales from web banner ads and email ads are 13,930
and 5,871. It means that the total sales earned from the web is about 2.3 times greater than email.
Not just that, the number of transactions from the web is 368, which is also more than two times
bigger than email (142). So, I believe that the company should invest more in web banner ads
because it brings more profit.
Next, in terms of payment methods, credit has 322 transactions and a total sales of 12,692. On
the other hand, Paypal only has 188 transactions with a total sales of 7,108. Even though the
outcome of Paypal is poor compared to credit, but that is acceptable. From the customer's
perspective, payment from a credit card is safer than Paypal; that is why it has a better outcome.
However, Paypal has its advantages, and it has the potential to grow in the future. Because of
that, there is no need to change this category.
In terms of product, book revenue is 15,316.23, and it also has 283 transactions. Online product
revenue is 4,485, and it has 227 transactions. It can be seen that book is much more profitable
than the online product. Because of that, I believe that the company should put more effort into
advertising books to maximize the revenue.
