Let me introduce myself. My name is Adiba Salma Zakia, just call me Salma. I
am from Bima, Nusa Tenggara Barat. I read your profile on Facebook last week. It
seems we have same interest and I would like to be one of your friends.
It is a bit hard to get the internet here, so I decided to write a letter instead of an

Well, I will tell about myself. I am the first child in my family. My parents have
four children. I got to SMPN 3 Sape, Bima. Now, I am in the ninth grade as you are.
My hobby is cooking, that is why I can cook many kinds of Bimanese traditional
dishes.
Beside that, I also like to play Kareku Kadei. Do you know what it is? It’s a
traditional music performance from Bima. Girls pound their pestles on a mortar to
create harmonious sound. Kareku Kandei is usually performed at special events as
Independence Day, kartini Day, etc.

Subject Great Independence Day activities!

Dear Iman,

I am very glad to write this e-mail to you. How is your school? Here in
Cilacap, we are preparing for independence day celebration, so everybody
is very busy.
First, we are going to have some sports competitions. There will be a
football competition, volleyball competition, and a tug-of-war competition.
The special one is, we are playing football while we are wearing sarong. It
is exciting, isn’t it? The winning team will receive a big goat as a prize. I
am going to play in the football and volleyball competition.
Then, we are going to have a wayang show at night before
independence day. The Dalang is famous enough, he comes from
Yogyakarta. He will perform all night long. I hope the story is interesting,
so I will not fall asleep during the show. Have you ever seen Wayang
Show? It is very entertaining.
Finally, I am going to attend a flag hoisting ceremony in my school on
the Independence Day. After that, we will give out prizes to the winners.
