Instructions: Read and answer the following questions.

1. DEFINE: CULTURE AND DIVERSITY

CULTURE- Culture is the character and personality of your organization. It's what makes your business unique and is
the sum of its values, traditions, beliefs, interactions, behaviours , and attitudes.

DIVERSITY- Diversity means similarities and differences among employees in terms of age, cultural background,
physical abilities and disabilities, race, religion, gender, and sexual orientation.

2. EXPLAIN THE IMPORTANCE OF DIVERSITY IN WORKPLACE.

- Diversity brings in new ideas and experiences, and people can learn from each other. Bringing in different ideas and
perspectives leads to better problem-solving. Working in diverse teams opens dialogue and promotes creativity. The
value of diversity is true for our culture, too.

3. GIVE ATLEAST 3 ELEMENTS OF CULTURE AND DESCRIBE EACH.

SYMBOLS- Every culture is filled with symbols, or things that stand for something else and that often evoke various
reactions and emotions.

LANGUAGE- Language is crucial to communication and thus to any society’s culture. Children learn language from
their culture just as they learn about shaking hands, about gestures, and about the significance of the flag and other
symbols.

NORMS- are the formal and informal rules regarding what kinds of behavior are acceptable and appropriate within a
culture.
