ACTIVITY TITLE: Case Analysis

CASE STORY TITLE: The Children of Sitio Mabolon

Conflict Identification

The biggest conflict would be the limited access to government advantages of the children of
Sitio Mabolon. There are also Severe malnutrition problems that the children are facing like
kwashiorkor which is a form of severe protein malnutrition characterized by edema and an
enlarged liver with fatty infiltrates. This is caused by too much calorie intake but little protein
consumption which then distinguishes it from marasmus. Marasmus is undernourishment
causing the child's weight to be significantly low for their age. There are other health-related
problems like bronchial pneumonia, gastrointestinal problems, and diarrhea. Which is a huge
case to conquer.

Plan of Action

I had planned out two activities to help the Children of Sitio Mabolon. As we all know that
health is a big issue in most countries not only in the Philippines facing this type of problem but
also in others as well. One of the groups that help this type of case would be the UNICEF, which
delivers food and donations to countries that are facing the problem that cannot be catered
immediately. However, as we are a student, I also found other was to help this type of cases.

The first activity is an outreach health care program to aid the children that are in need, to
build up clinic tents to cure those in pain and who are suffering internally and physically. The
purpose of this project is to help the children in the most logical way which is treating them.
The resources would mostly be medical kits and other trivial things. The time duration would
be the volunteers to visit the province every twice a week to check up on the patients. The
expected output is that the children of Sitio Mabolon will be somehow cured and aided.

Then donation drives and food recreation activities. The purpose of this is to thrive up the
supplies of food and proper nutrition to the province. The resources would be the materials for
the food recreation activities like garden pots, seeds, and other food preservatives. Also, the
donations were collected thru proper collection sites. This will probably go on for about a week
or two to make sure that everyone in that province will receive donations and proper food
supplies. The expected output will be that there would be much supply for the people in Sitio to
 feed their children and lessen the health problems that they face.

Reflection

Since we were little are parents always taught us to never waste food and to think about those
who are unfortunate enough that does not have a meal with hem every time that they would
want. I am ashamed of myself for wasting food or when I refuse to eat the food that was given
to me. When there are kids and people who are risking it for even just a slice of bread to eat.
When I am here overweighted and shamelessly throwing out food just because I did not like
them. My

biggest take from this case is that I should be more considerate with everything and not take
life for granted. With the help of this CWTS class I hope to help this type of people in need, I
would be more than willing to give everything that I can. May this be a lesson for us to not
waste anything and to be more appreciative with what we have.
