This document provides examples of discrete probability distributions and calculations of their mean and variance. It includes 17 examples of discrete random variables and their probability distributions, such as the number of heads when four coins are tossed, the maximum number on two dice, and the number of successes from tossing a die thrice. For each distribution, students are asked to determine the mean and variance to practice calculating expectations and variations of discrete random variables.
