Special tools and workshop equipment required
 Removal lever -80 - 200-

Removing
– Remove rear lid trim (bottom)
→ Chapter.

– First unclip rear lid trim (top) -1- from rear


lid from the side using removal lever -80
- 200--arrows A-.

– Then unclip trim (top) from rear lid using


removal lever -80 - 200--arrows B- and
detach.

Installing
Installation is carried out in the reverse order;
note the following:

Note
 If there are still trim clips -2- in the rear lid
mounting points, they must be removed
and inserted in the trim when installing.
 Check the clips for damage or deformation
and renew them if necessary.

– Check that all rubber buffers -1- are fitted


in trim.

– First insert trim behind side window frames


of rear lid.

– Clip in rear lid trim (top), first at top and


then at sides.

Removing and installing trim for rear lid lock


Removing
– Detach trim for rear lid lock -1- in direction
of -arrow-.

Installing
– Press on trim for rear lid lock until it
engages audibly.

Removing
– Disengage rear shelf -1- from rear lid -
arrows A-, pull out of rear lid trim -
arrow B- and detach.

Installing
– Insert rear shelf in rear lid trim and
engage in mountings (left and right) -
arrows A-.

Special tools and workshop equipment required
 Removal lever -80 - 200-

Removing
– Remove rear section of rear shelf
→ Chapter.

– Remove luggage compartment light


→ Electrical system; Rep. gr.96.

– Remove trim for rear lid lock → Chapter.

– Remove tail light covers → Chapter.

– Remove bolts -1- and -2-.

– Release clips on rear lid trim (bottom) -3-


using removal lever -80 - 200- and
carefully unclip rear lid trim (bottom) from
rear lid -arrows A, B-.

– Reach in between trim and rear lid and


disengage the remaining clips -arrows C-
.

– Detach rear lid trim (bottom).

Installing
Installation is carried out in the reverse
order; note the following:

 If there are still trim clips -2- in the rear
lid mounting points, they must be
removed and inserted in the trim when
installing.
 Check the clips for damage or
deformation and renew them if
necessary.

– Check that all rubber buffers -5- are fitted

in trim.

– First apply rear lid trim (bottom) -6- at


centring pins -1, 3, 4- and then press on
trim until it engages audibly.

Tightening torque → Chapter

Note
Removal and installation are identical on the left and right.

Special tools and workshop equipment required


 Removal wedge -3409-

Removing
– Use removal wedge -3409- to unclip tail
light cover -1- from trim (bottom) -2- in
direction of -arrow- and detach.

Installing

– Position cover for tail light on bottom of


trim and press it on until it engages
audibly.
