    Instruction: Find a local article from the Philippines with a hidden illogical and fallacious statement (you may
    only choose one from the discussed fallacies). Fill-up the table by providing the text, the explanation on why
    it is a fallacy, and its source. (20 points)

    WHAT IS THE TITLE OF THE ARTICLE? CHED: There’s no going back, ‘flexible

    “From now on, flexible learning will be the


    norm. There’s no going back to the traditional
    full-packed face-to-face classrooms. The
    commission has adopted the policy that
    flexible learning will continue in school year
    2021 and thereafter,” Prospero De Vera III

    WHAT FALLACY IS BEING EXEMPLIFIED? This fallacy attempts to validate one’s


    argument by suggesting that others believe
    the same that is why one should also do the
    same thing.
    WHAT PART OF THE TEXT IS FALLACIOUS? When Prospero de Vera III said that “Flexible
    learning” for higher education institutions
    involves a combination of digital and non-
    digital technology, which CHED said doesn’t
    necessarily require internet connectivity.

    WHY DID YOU SAY SO? First because, We all know that if we
    continue this kind of set-up, many students
    will be left behind, second even if we say that
    it’s a combination of digital and non-digital
    technology, we still need a internet
    connection to connect with our teachers to
    ask questions or something. Lastly, even if
    we combine modular and online class, not all
    students are fast learner, and there is still a
    lot to be left.
