OVERVIEW

I. Opportunity

The opportunities available to us are massive and this due to the fact Zumba is a total-body
cardio and aerobic workout, which provides a large calorie consumption. A study shows that a
person burns 300 to 900kcal with an hour-long Zumba exercise. Because Zumba offers different
options, proponents of the Zumba program claim that it is safe for all ages, meaning that anyone
from age 0 to 100 can participate in this form of aerobic exercise. Besides, the industry will likely
benefit from rising per capital disposable income as the economy continues to gain strength,
boosting spending on discretionary activities such as Zumba dance fitness classes.

II. Problem Summary

The benefits of physical activity and exercise have been demonstrated across the lifespan.
We are meant to move and many of our body’s systems work better when we are consistently
physically active. For managing symptoms of depression, some research suggests that elevated
levels of aerobic activity (exercise that significantly raises our heart rates) may be associated with

IV. Target Market

The target group for zumba is everybody: children, women, men, and older people. For
Zumba, the target group is mainly towards the older population to help them build strength,
improve motion and posture, and socialize. Much of it’s targeted group is also female, and the
average fan is 33 years old. However, Zumba offers different types of classes for different levels
of age and exertion, meaning that it’s overall targeted to everyone to help them exercise.
Movements are simple so that everyone can follow along. Movements are intended to burn
calories, everyone is able to work at their own pace and intensify/ simply movements as needed.

V. Competition

In a fiercely competitive market where there are hundreds of different ways to get healthy,
every person has a different expectation from a workout routine. Zumba saw this need early on
and while the foundation for all Zumba workouts is essentially the same, today there are
different Zumba workout styles — Aqua Zumba (in the pool), Sentao (with a chair), Toning (with
light dumbles) and the newly introduced Strong, which looks at balancing cardio with strength
training. This ensures that customers are able to pick and choose a different routine but still stick
with Zumba.

Zumba targets lots of different muscle groups at once for total body toning. Boosts your
heart health. You not only get aerobic benefits (it really gets your heart rate up), you also get
anaerobic benefits – the kind that help you maintain a good cardiovascular respiratory system.

Step Up is a standard Zumba studio that practices all forms of zumba fitness and
choreography.We run one of the most versatile fitness workouts session; a Zumba studio where
everybody engage in fitness activities by unique dance steps in a fun-fulfilled and relaxing
ambiance.

Step Up studio is well–equipped with wood-sprung floors, rocking stereo systems, a


comfortable lobby with flat screen TVs, and different locker room for change over equipped with
showers for both kids and adults alike. We will also run a one-stop Zumba shop in same facility
where our customers can purchase authentic fitness and dancing kits and accessories.

Our Zumba studio will be located mainly in Isabel town proper and provide the community
with a comfortable, friendly environment in which everyone learn and improve fitness. We hope
to open branches in other towns/cities in Leyte and also to sell franchise in the nearest future.

Step Up studio is founded by Ms. Francine Hannah Oppus and needs a capital estimate of Php
2,000,000 to successfully launch a standard and well – equipped zumba studio facility.

X. Products and Services
Step Up Dance Studio is going to offer varieties of Zumba fitness related services. We will be
offering these (6)types of classes, for different levels of exertion;

 Zumba Gold is a program designed for beginners and older people.


 Zumba Classic the original and typical style of Zumba. It provides high and low intensity
movements so that clients can feel constantly challenged, but never over-taxed.
 Zumba Step is a lower-body workout that incorporates Zumba routines and step
aerobics with Latin dance rhythms.
 Zumba in the Circuit combines dance with circuit training. These classes usually last 30
minutes and feature strength exercises on various stations in timed intervals.
 Zumba Gold-Toning. is a toning class for older participants with goals of improving
muscle strength, posture, mobility, and coordination.
 Zumbatomic, Zumba Kids and Zumba Kids Jr. classes are designed for children between
the ages of 7 and 11

XI. Marketing Strategy

Our marketing plan will be very simple. Satisfy our customers and provide them with the
desire to continue dancing. A happy customer will not only keep coming back, but they will tell

Step Up Studio will be set charges both per sessions and per hour billing. We will
keep our fees below the average market rate for all of our students by keeping our
overhead low and by collecting payment in advance. Aside from that, we will also offer
special discounted rates to all our clients at regular intervals.
