Listening Log #1: Post Modern Period (1970 – present): Film & Television Music

Entry #1: Identifying musical ideas and significant musical elements of a piece of music (60 pts)
Directions: For each of these three pieces of music from Music Literacy List I , listen to the music. Using the video
counter time as a guide, identify which sections of the piece share the same or similar music (idea) and identify the
featured instrument or performer type by selecting the most appropriate option in the drop-down box. In the “Identifying
Notes” row, write key words and descriptions that will allow you to aurally identify the section.
