For the past six years, I taught virtually as a 2nd grade teacher with Stride/K12 Services. I started
with Highpoint Virtual Academy of Michigan in 2016 when the school first opened. We started
with zero students and grew to over 2,300 students in our school. I began as a 2nd and 3rd grade
combined teacher and then became a mentor teacher for our 2nd grade team. For the past five
years the school had been using Blackboard Collaborate platform, but then switched over to
Newrow for live synchronous classes. I enjoyed sharing, encouraging, and teaching my students
from all over the great state of Michigan.
