NAME: JUNKO E. CAYTON COURSE & YEAR: BSBA-1

1. The Seven Gifts of the Holy Spirit are:

 Wisdom - is a gift that allows a person to understand things from God's point of view. This
allows a person to recognize truth. A person with the Gift of Wisdom is able to take this truth and
use it to glorify God by choosing Godly solutions to problems.

 Understanding – this allows us grasp, at least in a limited way, the very essence of the truths of
the Catholic Faith. Through understanding, we gain a certitude about our beliefs that moves
beyond faith.

 Counsel (Right Judgment) - is the perfection of the cardinal virtue of prudence. Prudence can be
practiced by anyone, but counsel is supernatural. Through this gift, we are able to judge how best
to act almost by intuition. With this gift, Christians need not fear to stand up for the truths of the
Faith, because the Holy Spirit will guide us in defending those truths.

 Fortitude (Courage) - through this Gift a person is no longer afraid to stand up for God and His
truths. A person who has the Gift of Fortitude will stand up for good against evil and is convicted
to take a stand when the occasion arises.
 Knowledge - allows a person to understand the meaning and purpose God has for him and to live
up to this meaning.

 Piety (Holy Spirit) - is the perfection of the virtue of religion. While we tend to think of religion
today as the external elements of our faith, it really means the willingness to worship and to serve
God. Piety takes that willingness beyond a sense of duty, so that we desire to worship God and to
serve Him out of love, the way that we desire to honor our parents and do what they wish.

 Fear of the Lord - puts God in the proper perspective. A person with this Gift understands the
greatness and awesomeness of the Lord. They want to serve Him because of who He is. They are
totally dependent on the Lord as a child is to a parent.

2. Despite this Covid-19 pandemic, we must look for God and be faithful to Him. Let us continue asking
for the intercession of our Blessed mother Mary, the Lady of La Sallete to guide and protect us with our
family and loved ones in this time of pandemic. We must seize this moment to get closer to Him and
discover the godly way of facing trials and tribulations in our own lives. In Psalm 46:1-2, “God is our
refuge and strength, a helper who is always found in times of trouble. Therefore we will not be afraid,…”
God is the only true source of security, strength and we can rely on Him always. God watches us as he
cares for us and loves us unconditionally. That is why we should see this virus as an opportunity to spread

God's message of love and peace in ways we never thought we could. But don't lose sight of what truly
matters, which is to glorify God's name to the ends of the earth.

3. I choose The Gift of Fear of the Lord and Fortitude out of the Seven Gifts of the Holy Spirit. With
the gift of Fear of the Lord, I’ll be able to understand the glory and majesty of our God. This gives us the
desire not to offend God and pay a respect to Him like a parent. With this gift I can understands who God
is and desires to please Him and begin to understand things from God's point of view or have Wisdom.
Lastly, with the gift of Fortitude, I can overcome my fear and willing to take a risk to stand up for what is
right in God's eyes. With this gift, I can accept rejection, endure verbal abuse, or even physical harm and
death. This will allow me to have the firmness of mind to do good things and in endure evil.
