Reading assignment: second task

book: City of bones ( by Cassandra Clare)
Mina dinc

Last week I had to choose a book to read in the upcoming month. Yes, of course it was neither
an easy choice to make, nor a hard one; but in conclusion I chose to read the book , “city of
bones”, by Cassandra Clare. During this week I have read about 40-50 pages and in addition I
think the book is good so far. However the first 10 pages were confusing to read because I don't
fancy fantasy books that much so it took me a while to imagine the concept and get the action.
Up till now it has been going well and I feel enthusiastic about the book and I am looking
forward to reading more. My favorite part of the book so far has been chapter 1 but if I had to
choose a specific scene it would be the part where Clary saw Jase at Eric's poetry audition and
she got an unordinary call from her mother. In my opinion that's when the “real “action of the
book starts because she starts to realise and get an idea of what's going on and that's why that
part of the book gets my attention. But anyway, when it comes to the characters, Clary is the
main character and from my point of view she is boring and at the same time she is energetic.
Like, for example ,she is curious about what's going on but not curious enough to get in on
action . On the other hand she's very energetic and creative so it's like she has two versions of
herself. In brief I like her character and I find her personality fun and this can be seen in very
different parts of the book. Generally speaking I find the book easy to read even though it's not
the type I would prefer. I also find it appropriate for my reading level so I feel like reading this
book is going to be a nice experience.
