INTRODUCTION
Movilift stand-alone encoder card is a universal decoder that allows the pilot of various types of indicators.
It operates independently thanks to two magnetic sensors N.O.
In addition, it can handle all types of indicators in parallel and serial via CAN-BUS.

Note: this document refers exclusively to firmware version 2.0 and later as the operation is very different
from the previous one.

TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION
BOARD OVERALL DIMENSIONS 105 x 60 mm.
SUPPLY VOLTAGE 12-24 VDC ± 10%
POWER 40mA – 80mA max.
SIGNAL INTERFACE Binary Gray,7 segments, 1 line p/floor, CAN-BUS
WORKING TEMPERATURE RANGE Da -15°C a +50°C

OPERATING MODE

The selector follows the cabin movements by correctly piloting the plane number and arrow pointing on
the display, and also the Gong trigger for the plane's arrival. The A (upper sensor) and B (lower sensor)
signals must be connected to the inputs 1 and 2 of the card. The selector reset phase is performed when
the two sensors are engaged on a magnet for at least 5 seconds, returning the display value to the lowest
value. See figure below and electrical diagrams.

• Place two magnetic sensors N.O. (normally open) on a bracket mounted on the car roof, with a minimum
distance between the sensors of 40 mm.
• Connect the two sensors on inputs 1 and 2 to the board.
• Place two magnets on the guide at each plane, so that both sensors are disengaged with the cabin on the
floor. The magnitude of the magnets relative to the plane determines where the board updates the plane
number.
• Add a third magnet to the main floor of the system (which by default is the lowest plane, typical value 0)
so that both sensors are engaged with the cabin on the floor.
• Between a magnet and the next one must have a minimum distance of twice the distance between the
two sensors, so at least 80 mm.
• Bring the cabin to the refit plane. After 5 sec. that both sensors are engaged in the board is re-configured.
After the first refinement, another correction will only be made if the cabin is in the downward direction.
The correction is required whenever the card is switched on because it does not store its last position. As
long as the card is not restored, the displays will indicate "0" as the value of the plan. The arrows are
immediately active.
• The Plane Gong trigger is automatic: when the two sensors cross the incoming magnet on a plane for a
time of at least 0.6 seconds, then it is assumed that the cabin is at low speed and is therefore close to the
stop. The trigger has duration of 2 seconds. Note: This signal is only available in serial mode.

SETTING
Board setting is performed with 4 jumpers on the board itself.

DIGITAL WIRING OUTPUTS

The encoder card has 16 GND outputs. These outputs have a programmable behaviour thanks to jumpers
J1 and J6, as shown in the following table:

Jumper J6 Jumper J1 OUTPUT CODAGE USED OUTPUTS

OFF OFF 1 line per floor From P0 to P13
OFF ON Standard binary P0(A), P1(B), P2(C), P2(D)
ON OFF Gray P0(A), P1(B), P2(C), P2(D)
ON ON 7 segments P0(a), P1(b), P2(), P3(c), P4(d), P5(e), P6(f),
P7(g), P8 (tens 0 e 1)

P14 e 15 are two outputs for the direction arrows

P14 UP
P15 DOWN

Serial communication
Jumper J7 needs to be used for activating the CAN-BUS communication. CAN-BUS is used for managing all
the Movilift serial indicators.

You can also choose an offset floor, using the inputs C and D on the board, like showed in the following
scheme:

Input D Input C OFFSET

0 0 0
0 1 -1
1 0 -2
1 1 -3

Jumper P1 is used for activating the resistance. It is mandatory to activate in case one of the displays or
boards are at the ends of the serial bus communication.

DIAGNOSTICS

Once the indicator is loaded, the firmware version is displayed. 2 digits.

A blinking “0” is going to be showed on the board until the power factor correction will be done.
Once the power factor correction is done, the board will show the floor.
