“Sexual Harassment”
Over the years, many people believed that the
issue of sexual harassment should not be discussed in
public and some thought that it was a joke but for
those who know, sexual harassment is no joke! Sexual
harassment can cause mental and emotional pain and
worry for people who are the victims, which can affect
their well-being physically and emotionally. The
stopstreetharassment website said 81% of women and
43% of men were sexually harassed in 2019. It’s a big
problem, and one that needs to be solved urgently.
Sexual Harassment in the Workplace
Nowadays, many people who work in offices are
regularly victims of sexual harassment by their boss or
their co-workers, to the point where it is considered
normal. Not only females employees have a sexual
harassment problem, but males are also affected from
this issue. They may also receive the problem of
harassment from people’s critical views and their
reactions on them. This leads the people who have
harassment problems to suffer from anxiety and stress
disorders which can contribute to unhealthy thinking
in their workplaces. They may feel anxious about work
and absentee rates could rise.

th

2019 reports that many Thai teenagers in the ages
between 15-19 years old are at the highest rate of

Telling funny stories about sex, and the mimicking
problem can affect some people’s feeling, for
example the group of LGBT people. Moreover, this
issue happens with the latger rates in the group of
females than other genders and it is the widely
prevalent issue in social media these days. As has
been reported on the Thaiger news website, in
September 2019, most of the critical opinions about
sex, typically are posted on the internet and social
media.

Briefly, sexual harassment is one of the most

discussed issues in society. Not only are women
harassed by the problem of sexual harassment, but
also men. Some of them are hurt by people’s
criticisms and some are abused physically such as in
their marriage. “Marital rape is much more painful
than rape because you have to get up with the tears
and wipe it off in the same bed on which before you
used to cuddle,” said by Kirti Mathur, a protester for
female sexual harassment in India.
As we have shown, all genders are attacked by
sexual harassment to some degree or another, and
some of the comments that are made can influence
their life a lot. Those criticisms can depress people
both in their physical and mental health. This causes
lots of people to have to see a psychiatrist for
treatment all the time and inaction only compound
the problem further. The country neds to foster a
culture of support for people who are suffering from
sexual harassment, and post about good things which
are beneficial for people. More information and
support about how to protect yourself from dangerous
social sex and sexual harassment will assist people to
move forward in their lives.
