    American fighter Adrien Broner, a known trash talker, shrugged off the unanimous
    decision favoring Filipino champ Manny Pacquiao on Sunday in Las Vegas.

    In an interview ringside right after the WBA Welterweight title match at the MGM Grand
    Garden, Broner insisted he beat Pacquiao, the clear crowd favorite.

    “I beat him. Everybody out there knows I beat him. I controlled the fight, he was missing
    I hit him clean more times. I beat him,” Broner said, amid boos throughout his speech.

    The statement raised eyebrows, as expected.

    ShoStats’ punch numbers indicate the opposite. The faster Pacquiao landed 112 of 568
    punches he threw at Broner, who is 11 years his junior. Broner only connected 50 of 295
    attempts.

    The 40-year-old Filipino multiple world champion was quicker and more accurate as he
    controlled each round and cruised to the triumph over Broner, who fought gamely and
    stayed upright despite being hit with several heavy combinations.

    The official scorecard gave the most points to Pacquiao, who commanded 116-112, 117-
    111 and 116-112 from the judges.

    Retired great Floyd Mayweather attended the fight, fueling speculation of a rematch
    against Pacquiao. Undefeated Mayweather beat Pacquiao in 2015. — with reports from
