General Instructions
Read all instructions before beginning.
All seams are ¼”.

Fabric & Yardage

1/2 yard of 10 red fabrics for stripes.


1 1/4 yards of black fabric for triangles.
1 yard red fabric for binding and stripes.
4 yards backing fabric.
68” x 68” minimum batting.

All fabrics shown in the cover quilt are from Paintbrush Studio’s Vibe and Marblehead
collections. Yardage to make a quilt using the same fabrics shown in the cover quilt are
shown below (backing not included in yardage).

Making the Quilt Blocks

• From each of the 11 red fabrics, cut 1 strip • Sew CD to E along the long side. Press
10½” x WOF (width of fabric). toward E.
Cut each strip into 16 rectangles, each
measuring 2 ½”x10 ½” (176 rectangles).

• From 1 red fabric, cut 1 strip 2 ½” x WOF.


Cut into 4 rectangles 2 ½” x 10 ½”. You will
need 180 rectangles total.

• From black fabric, cut 6 strips 6” x WOF. • Sew AB to CDE. Press toward C.
Cut strips into 36 squares, each
measuring 6” x 6”.
Cut each of the 36 squares in half
diagonally to make 72 triangles.

• Choose 5 of the 2 ½”x10 ½” strips to make


a block. Arrange them with long sides
touching in any order you wish.

• Lay your ABCDE strip flat. Tape the two


parts of the template found on the last 2
pages together. Lay the template over
the ABCDE strip and mark along the
diagonal lines. Use rotary cutter to slice
off 2 corners along the marks.

• Start by sewing A and B together along the


long side. Press toward B.

• Sew C and D together along the long side.
