Dear Student,

Greetings from FLAME!

I hope by now you have already received the offer letter and taken the necessary steps
to make sure that you are one of the successful candidates who will join FLAME this
year (See Appendix at the end.) Our Orientation and Induction program for the PG
Preparatory Programme students will begin on Sunday – July 18, 2010.

Here are some instructions related to the program. Please go through them carefully and
make sure that you bring all the forms and documents when you arrive on the campus.
You will find a list at the end of this letter.

1. Please do not arrive on campus before the scheduled day.


2. If you arrive earlier, make your own living arrangements.
3. If parents and family members are planning to accompany you kindly ensure that
your family leaves the campus at 5.00 pm. Please note Campus gates will close
at 5.30 pm
4. FLAME does not provide accommodation for Parents and Relatives during the
Registration and Induction period.
5. All new students and their family members are expected to register at the
Welcome Center on Sunday, July 18, 2010 between 10:00 am and 4:00 pm.
There, you will receive further instructions.
6. A Notice Board will be placed at the Welcome Center, where recent up-dates and
schedule changes will be posted. Please make a note of this facility.
7. Parents may optionally attend the Oath Taking ceremony scheduled to be held
on August 4, 2010 at 09.00 am.

List of items students are expected to bring with them:


1. Clothes Hangers
2. Coffee mugs and drinking glasses
3. Three bed sheets,
4. Three pillow covers,
5. One blanket / quilt
6. Towels – (Minimum numbers suggested are 3).
7. Formal Wear such as suit or jacket and necktie, salwar, kurta or sherwani for
boys and saris and dresses for girls, and proper dress shoes
8. Laundry Bag
9. Pens and Pencils
10. Umbrella
11. Proper shoes
12. Slippers
13. Sports shoes
14. Toiletries

Please note, you are not allowed to enter the Sports area without the FLAME
sportswear. You will be issued a kit containing sufficient sportswear. Please pay Rs
2,500 for the Sports and stationery kit at the Accounts office desk and collect your kit.

List of items students will NOT be allowed to have on campus:

1. Hot Plates
2. Space Heaters
3. Microwave Ovens/ Air coolers and Refrigerators are not allowed.
4. Knives, Daggers, Swords and Guns of any kind
5. Pets
6. Toasters

List of items FLAME will provide: You will have to return these on the last day of each
trimester. Damaged and lost items will be charged for.

1. One mattress per student,


2. One pillow per student,
3. One bed cover per student and
4. Curtains as per requirement in the rooms / apartments.

Parents and relatives to leave Campus at 5.00 pm
Gates will be closed at 5.30 pm
Parents and relatives are not allowed to enter the Apartments.

Please note that you will be given temporary room allotment for the preparatory
programme. Your final room allotment will be done on August 1, 2010.

At the Registration Desk, pick up your Orientation packets. In it, you will find:

Remaining information will also be available at the time of registration.

Appendix 1

Medical Certificate

You are required to bring along with you a Fitness certificate from a registered medical
practitioner together with following medical reports:

 Haemogram with ESR


 Blood group with Rh factor
 Urine (Routine)
 LFT and RFT
 Vaccination for Hepatitis B, Typhoid & Tetanus

For Registration on July 18, 2010, Sunday

Please bring along with you Rs.21,500 for the following expenditure if applicable in your
case:

 Rs 10,000 towards caution money deposit (compulsory)


 Rs. 2,500 for sports kit (compulsory)
 Rs.7,500 for configuration of personal notebook to FLAME requirements if not
purchased from the designated vendor. This is an one time charge for the entire
duration of the programme
 Rs.1,500 for medical tests if you do not carry on the day of registration a fitness
certificate from your physician

(To be submitted to the FLAME infirmary staff on the day of Registration) Please

Appendix 3

Documents needed to confirm your admission

Please note: Students should send only photocopies and not originals through post. The
last date for receipt of payment for first trimester is July 15, 2010.

For Postgraduate Students

 3 x Passport size photographs


 Photocopy of the SSC or equivalent Mark Sheet issued by the respective Board
 Photocopy of HSC, XII th Std. or equivalent issued by the respective Board
 Photocopy of School Leaving certificate issued by the School
 Photocopy of Birth Certificate
 Photocopy of Mark Sheet for Bachelors Degree Exam. (Applicants have at least 3 year
Bachelor Degree or equivalent from any recognized college by the AICTE or Association
of Indian Universities
 Photocopy of the Transfer Certificate issued by the respective College from which the
student has passed out
 Photocopy of Migration Certificate, issued by the respective university from which the
student has passed and applicable only to those students who have passed from
universities outside the state of Maharashtra
 Photocopy of Gap Certificate if applicable (applicable if you have taken a drop or gap in
your education)
 Photocopy Character or Bona fide Certificate issued by the College from which the
student has passed his graduation
 Work experience certificate, if applicable
 Mark list of CET/MAT/ATMA/CAT/XAT/GMAT or equivalent, if appeared.
Migration Certificate may be submitted within 30 days of payment of Fees, but no later
than September 30, 2010.

Appendix 4

Policy on the Use of Alcohol and Drugs

FLAME prohibits the use and consumption of alcohol and expects students to abide by
this regulation concerning the consumption, purchase, storage, empty bottles and
distribution of alcohol. It is mandatory for every student to provide the Foundation, on
written orders from the Executive Committee, at any time during the academic year,
samples of urine, blood, breath analyzer or subject themselves to medical examination if
called upon to do so. Refusal to take a test shall be construed as admission of guilt and
action shall be initiated as per norms laid down.

No student may enter the campus having consumed ANY level of alcohol. This clearly
means that no student can consume alcohol and come to the campus. Students are
advised to remain outside the campus limit. The campus limit is defined as from the point
that starts from the diversion at the Pune –Bangalore highway (Crystal Honda), to the
campus.

Students are hereby advised that breath analyzer test shall be conducted for every
student entering the campus at any time of the day by the authorized personnel. If the
student tests any level of alcohol in his/ her breath, the student will be requested to leave
the campus premises immediately on his/ her own transport arrangement. The parents
shall be informed about the infraction immediately. Further disciplinary action shall be
initiated against the student. Please note that the Foundation is not responsible for
making arrangements for the student to leave the campus.

Students below the age of 21 are not permitted to consume alcohol. Any student found
to be doing so shall face the Executive Committee and disciplinary action which shall
range from suspension to expulsion.

Drug Testing Consent Form

Consent form to be signed and submitted to the Registrar before being issued the
eligibility to attend academic session. Please note if your parents are not accompanying
you, your parents must sign the enclosed consent form

allotted rooms or enter the Foundation Property without completing all formalities

Required by: FLAME Executive Committee


Purpose: To prevent substance abuse.

You must sign this form to enjoy eligibility as a full time resident student of FLAME. As
per The FLAME Byelaws, the Executive Committee shall disseminate a copy of the list of
banned drug classes (Attachment) to all students please note that the list may change
during the academic year. FLAME Bylaws require that you sign this form. If you have any
questions, you should discuss them with your school Dean.

Drug-Testing Consent

By signing this form, you affirm that you are aware of the FLAME drug-testing program,
which provides that

1. A student who is found to have used a substance on the list of banned drugs, as
set forth in, shall be declared ineligible for further participation in regular
academic and non academic activities and competition in all sports in accordance
with the provisions in Byelaws of the Executive Committee. A student who tests
positive (in accordance with the testing methods authorized by the FLAME
Executive Committee) shall be expelled from the school he/she studies in.
without recourse to appeal.

2. You understand that the Foundation and its constituents have the right to check
your rooms, bags and undertake physical frisking (by or in the presence of a
female warden and by a female only in the case of a female student) at any time
of the day or night without any prior intimation or permission.
3. You undertake to provide the Foundation, on written orders from the Executive
Committee, at any time during your academic year, samples of your urine, blood
or any other method as defined by the FLAME Executive Committee from time to
time. No reason needs to be provide the by the Foundation for asking for such a
sample from you. Such testing may be random in nature.
4. You undertake to pay the cost of the tests and other incidental charges if you
have been found in possession or suspected to be found in possession, or
suspected to be consuming banned substance.
5. The Foundation will not charge students where “random tests” are conducted and
the test results are “negative”.
6. You understand that this consent and the results of your drug tests, if any, only
will be disclosed in accordance with the laws of the institution. You agree not to
disclose the results of the tests to anyone.
7. You understand that the foundation has the right to use the results of the tests as
evidence against you.
8. You affirm that you understand that if you sign this statement falsely or
erroneously, you violate FLAME legislation on ethical conduct, and you will
further jeopardize your eligibility and such a false or erroneous statement on your
part can invite expulsion or suspension.
