What It Takes

Those looking from outside may know that my life is beginning and beginning, again and again,

so filled with experimental riches and variety of every kind, talent glore, grift and glory no end. I

felt patrified and the velocity with which I was moved , tried to catch everything. Just in case

when would my life actually starts.

Writing is something incredible that makes us all to feel happy and at home.I’ve

been thinking about writing this essay for a good, long while. How am I going to impress an

admissions team that reviews hundreds or thousands of applications, many of which blow them

out of the water? I mean, in a lot of ways, I’m an ordinary kid. I like to play ball, I like school,

and I like my friends. That’s a start, but you’ll probably need a little more. Well, I raise money

for causes that are close to my heart, including veterans’ services, health and wellness, and the

arts in my community. The best part is that I help others by doing things I love. This becomes

my purpose for life as most of people have differently.

Talking about my hidden talent and steps I take for it it explore, always encourage me to move

forward and tell people about it.Let’s start with bowling. I bowl, a lot, in school , in street and in

each spare second I get.My room is filled with trophies and awards from tournaments near and

far, and I’ve got a couple of 300’s under my belt. Still, I’m optimistic that the best is yet to

come. This is the hope which keeps me alive.Regardless, bowling has enabled me to raise
money for local and national charity time and time again, so it’s always a win for me. Also, I am

especially proud to coach youth bowlers, including those who are differently abled. It is

immensely satisfying to me that I can use my sport to help others achieve their greatest

potential. I'm moving towards my goal of life which keeps me alive to have cherished and

purposeful life.

Sometimes walking on road of life, you get hit by a thing, when you turn around and see your

eyes get stuck and your heart stops beating due to surprise, the happiness, the excitement. That

surprise is music.Moving on, there’s me and music. I play, a lot. Flute, keyboard, tenor sax,

classical music, jazz, musical theater, morning, noon, and night. I work to hone my skills every

day, because, as Debussy allegedly said, “I love music passionately.” Learn, play, repeat, enjoy.

My career highlights thus far include a superior rating at NYSSMA, and a gracious invitation

from the accomplished musicians of the United States Coast Guard Auxilliary Band to jam with

them all during covid. We had distanced practices on the park lawn, and each practice was a

respite from the heaviness of the pandemic. I am especially proud to have played a veterans’

tribute at the American Airpower Museum, an airport near where I live, to honor the veterans

who had endured so much for the love of their country. As with bowling, music, too, enables

me to better my community, whether performing in concerts that support the school and local

arts council, or tutoring other students, because the music that is in my heart also is at the

heart of building community. This builds my confidence. Boost up my energy more and more

Third, lessons learned through hard work. I work, a lot. My professional career started before

high school, when I snagged a job for one of the largest bowling distributors in the nation. It

was the greatest job, and one of the hardest, too. The warehouse was stifling hot; we had to
keep the garage doors shut to prevent theft. I was but a wee child, stocking racks of bowling

balls and other merchandise, none of it light. Customers loved me, especially the tough ones,

because I knew the merchandise and when the orders were challenging, I did my best to fulfill

them. Plus, I was too young to be defensive. I kept my cool and kept things moving. I utilize

those lessons in my current jobs, an ice cream shop and a law firm. Simply, listen to what your

customer or client wants and try to achieve that for them to the best of your ability. It doesn’t

have to be any harder than that.

So, in a nutshell: attend college, continue to work hard, study law, further help people to

achieve their goals. Now, I don’t know if this sets me apart from anyone else, or if it needs to.

After all, Debussy allegedly said also, “Extreme complication is contrary to art.” On that note,

and in the simplest of terms, hope to see you next fall.
