A diamond to bite
“The cut diamond firmly holds its slant. On the outside the precisely-cut edges evoke
austerity and strict demands, while the inside hides a pure soul. Pear is also a sitting
figure, a friend who will never leave you”, says the author.

Thanks to the irregularly-cut edges and precisely-polished surfaces, each object
becomes a playful kaleidoscope that provokes your imagination with its optics.
The moody alexandrite, underlaid with one of the other unique Moser colours, causes
the vases to change appearance according to the light conditions and angle from which
they are viewed. Have a look with your own eyes.

Crystal, unlike stone or bronze sculpture, allows light to penetrate the structure of the
work, giving its architecture another dimension. The optical multiplication then means
that the whole area inside and outside is magically deformed. To have Cubism in both
your art collection and your bar is essential.

The masterful artisan work of the Moser glassmakers,
cutters and painters can be seen in every detail. The whole
collection of classic vases and bowls thus gives a highly
exclusive impression, whatever combination of form, size
and refinement you choose.

Favourite vases include the Gloria and Merano collections,

as well as the more sober designs Diva, Purity and Paradise.
The queen of the classic bowls is the Belvedere, inspired by
tableware from the court of Empress Maria Theresa.

POLIS HE D TAST E
These superb cut-glass bowls of clear crystal, decorated
with a band of oroplastic ornament in 24K gold or
platinum, are among the most sought-after Moser designs.
They have appeared in the Moser range since the 1920s,
and show clear inspiration in classical and Renaissance
art, like the vases of the same period. They offer a
multitude of possibilities in terms of combination of
forms, sizes, ornaments and colours. Some, thanks to the
masterful and sophisticated engravings, are a work of art
that would not be out of place in any world gallery.
Further Moser gems include the boat-shaped Neptune
bowl with divinely-worked details, from the rippling cut
of the goblet to the engraved figural scene inspired by
a tableau of the wedding of the Roman god of the sea by
one of Moser’s most distinguished engravers, Konstantin
Hable the elder.

The majestically-cut and engraved Belvedere bowl is

complemented by the drinking collection Maria Theresa.
It is decorated either with a Baroque ornamental motif
featuring cherubs, originally created by the master
Konstantin Hable Jr., or figural motifs taken from the
Rococo paintings of Jean-Antoine Watteau, executed by
master engraver Roman Chalupka.

Pure lead-free crystal is brought alive by the elegance of the silhouettes and the lily
shape of the goblet. This lighter variation on the typical Moser cut does not hide its
inspiration in the symmetry of flower petals. This characteristic detail opens the gates
to inner feelings of which the origin may lie, like the wine itself, in the depths of one’s
soul or the whole universe.

This highly popular collection of whisky glasses, designed in 1968, remains entirely
modern, thanks to its minimalist design. “I always look for an idea in a glass. I try to
get space into it. And music. I see things in colour, even when I’m working with pure
crystal”, says the author.

OUR SECRET?
Moser glass engravers, such as Vladimir
Skála, Milan Holubek, Tomáš Lesser, have
achieved the virtuosity of great masters.

ART ENGRAVINGS
Through groundbreaking additions to this
centuries-old art, their work has enriched the
world’s treasury of engraved glass, and are
widely considered to be masterpieces.
Further generations of engravers now follow in the
footsteps of the founder of the Moser brand. Behind
their art lie long years of fine artisan work, requiring
the precision touch of a watchmaker. The painstaking
engraving of layers of crystal with miniature cutters
gradually creates a three-dimensional silhouette in
subtle coloured tones. After long weeks of precise work,
the picture comes alive in all its beauty.

Vladimír Skála, Milan Holubek, Vlastimil Selinger, Roman

Chalupka and Tomáš Lesser are among the authors
whose work is sought after by collectors all over the
world. Tomáš Lesser was made a Knight of the Order of
Arts and Letters by the French Culture Ministry, thus
joining artists such as Václav Boštík and Adolf Born.

The engraver’s art stood at the very beginnings of the Moser

Vienna, Paris, London, New York and other major cities.
