SOIL CEMENT BRICK

Tijolo Ponto Eco bricks dimensions are 30 x 15 x 7 cm (length x width x height), and
there are three models: Full Brick, Channel Brick and Half-Brick (15 x 15 x 7 cm). To build
one square meter of wall 47.5 bricks are needed.

What is Soil Cement Brick?
The soil cement brick is also know
as CEB (compressed earth block).
It is produced with a mix of soil,
cement and water. The soil is a
sandy clayed soil and can´t have
any organic material in it. Is even
possibel to use RESIDUO DE
CONSTRUÇÃO CIVIL MOÍDO as
raw material. ((crushed building
demolition waste))
The soil cement brick is molded in a
hydraulic press machine. Following,
there is a cure process, when the
brick is mantained wet for many
days to gain resistance. When the
cure process is over, the brick is
ready to be transported and used in
construction.
The masonry work consist in put one
brick line above the other, without
any need of mortar. The bricks must
be well aligned, leveled, and
APRUMADAS. Mortar can also be
used in masonry works. Alignment
and PRUMO are very important
aspects in soil cement masonry.

The brick´s holes are used:

– As a form to cast the embedded reinforced concrete structure.
– To permit the passage of pumbling and wiring.

Soil Cement Brick Making Machines

The process of manufacturing the Soil Cement Bricks consiste basically of extrating the
soil, preparing the soil, mixing the soil with cement, sieving the misture, pressing, curing,
transporting.
Soil cement bricks making requires the following machines:
• Soil Cement Mixture Multiprocessor. This machine makes the soil cement
mixture, by doing the following tasks: dosage, loading, mixing, unloading, sieving,
and stocking of one batch of mixture.
• Automatic Hydraulic Press. This machine receives the mixture and makes the
bricks.
• Conveyor. Transports the mixture from the multiprocessor to the press.
Our advice is to have independent production lines, adding another one when the demand
for the bricks grows up. Each line consists of one 400 liter mixture multiprocessor, one
conveyor and one automatic hydraulic press.
The client may choose between two press models: one makes 30 x 15 cm bricks, and the
other makes 25 x 12.5 cm bricks. Both presses have the same price. The bigger brick
have these advantages: wider walls (15 cm), wider embedded reinforced concrete
columns (8.8 cm), allowing up to three stories buildings, and greater wall area made with a
single brick, reducing work.
These machines are designed to produce 3000 bricks daily in 8 hours of work. Based on
experience, we advice you to expect a daily production of 2000-2500 bricks. To produce
5000 bricks by day, you will need two of these production lines.
The prices of the machines are FOB in Santos (Brazil) in october 2017.
All import taxes must be paid by the client and are not included in the prices.

Other machines and tools are needed to a sustainable and sucessfull soil cement brick
production, but it is possible to buy them in your own country, like air compressor, pallets,
maintenance tools, and so on.
The client also needs to build or to own a space with infrastructure to support industrial
activities.
