unprivileged people, providing aid to the needy, hosting many donations, and has also undertaken many Swacch
Bharat drives. Elixir has more than 2500 members along with 50 plus advisors.

Description of the internship

The fundamental undertaking allocated to us at temporary job was to impart. As Elixir takes every necessary step
to support and gift better lives to people, and its one simple purpose is to support socio-economic development of
the country, and within view of the current prevailing situation, that is the COVID-19 pandemic in India, ongoing
from 30 January 2020, which has critically impacted almost every sector that is commercial establishments,
education, economy, entertainments, events, religion, sports, transport, unemployment, food security and many
more.

Considering the grave situation of the pandemic Elixir mainly focused on spreading of the correct information
regarding the corona virus, and tried to reduced and discard the impacts of rumors and social stigmas related to
COVID-19 creating stress and hampering the recovery from the virus. The stigmas prevailing are mainly due to
lack of information, fear of disease, and rumors and misinformation.

Through our mentors and advisors at Elixir we could find our and sort down the people who mainly face the social
stigmas, they are:

 People affected with COVID-19, their friends, families, relatives and neighbors

 People under quarantine and their families and friends

 Frontline health workers like doctors, nurses, paramedics, field works, policemen, hospital staff members,
sanitation workers etc.

 Migrant workers
 Those who have recovered from COVID-19

Such discrimination and social stigmas has worsening effects, like people start to conceal their symptoms,
avoid reporting to doctors, and become hesitant to seek medical care, with increased sense of emotional
isolation, guilt and anxiety.

To overcome all these difficulties and complication Elixir foundation started the campaign called ‘Voices
Against COVID Stigma’, with the purpose of spreading and educating people with right information, to spread
awareness about harmful impacts of these COVID stigmas, and every individuals can help to stop its spread,
and save lives of people.

The organization structure of NGO

The structure of the NGO is quite basic i.e. Flat Organization. It consisted of its founding members, with the
founding president Mr. Madhish Parikh, an alumnus of L D College of Engineering moreover a Graduate in
Computer Engineering and an active Youth Leader and is associated with many social change making organizations,
along with Ms. Pragya Pandey from Madhya Pradesh who is the Vice President. She is overseeing the legal
administration of the foundation furthermore initiates women centric Programme of the foundation.
Mr. Parmeshwar Choudhary is the also the Vice President for the foundation also forges in looking after the legal
affairs and advisory body of the foundation. And Ms. Miral Patel who is secretary for the Elixir Foundation, who has
been awarded with the IG NSS Award by Hon’ble President of India at Rashtrapati Bhavan, New Delhi in 2014, for
her excellent service acts. Some well-known initiatives started by Elixir are Balakalakaar-an artist in every child,
SANTA cause, Light a Life, Swacch Bharat, UNESCO world heritage volunteer’s initiative and many more
international programs.
Internship Activity

the fundamental task allotted to us working under Elixir Foundation, was essentially to spread mindfulness about
Covid disgrace and data about how to overcome its impacts for which Elixir Foundation began the mission called
"Voices Against COVID Stigma". As COVID 19 is an exceptionally infectious sickness, which spreads extremely
quick and anybody can be tainted by it, individuals are in dread because of this circumstance of pain, in light of
which COVID marks of disgrace are rising, which is medical care laborers, sterile specialists, and police, who are in
the cutting edge for the board of the episode, confronting segregation because of increased dread and deception about
disease, in spite of the fact that keeping up social separation and taking legitimate estimates that are wearing a cover
and rehearsing sterilization can evade the spread. Because of which the fundamental specialists, just as the patients,
are named and accused based for record of complete deception that is rumors. Hence, through this mission called
#fightagainstcovidstigma, our task was to address these COVID stigmas of shame, value the endeavors of
individuals, basic laborers, show uphold towards their families, just offer real data, and offer positive tales about the
individuals who have recouped from Covid, which was all through online media as that is the most helpful and
dependable source presently.

For spreading mindfulness online, our first undertaking was to educate individuals in our encompassing that is our
companions, families, neighbors, and family members about the COVID shame and request that they join the
mission, for which we gathered more than 170 individuals all together through our contacts, recording themselves
discussing Coronavirus stigmas, tending to the need to battle together, promising solidarity dispirit the spread of
shame, giving guide to patients and basic laborers by any mean conceivable, which was totally posted online on
various social destinations, for example, Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, and so forth, through which we discovered
our latent capacity reach more than 3 lakhs individuals on the web and effect about in excess of 8 lakhs all through
web-based media. Furthermore, to connect individuals who don't approach cell phones and web associations, for that
we are utilizing the mode of papers and radio, we have reached radio and press spread for the crusade, so country
individuals can likewise know about it

Another task relegated was to create at any rate 12-15 pledges for each day, from our companions, family members,
neighbors, and relative, which each individual needed to post on their online media handles, this mission pulled off
fame in exceptionally less time, as we able to create close around 4000 banners in two days. Large number of people
took stand to raise their voice though our pledge medium against COVID stigma.
Reflection of Internship

As we realize that correspondence is such a vital piece of our life the principle task of this temporary job was to
convey. Speak with a wide range of individuals and expel the dread of being judge by others. This internship affected
me well as was able to understand and and hear experiences from the people who have come across COVID stigmas
and how it had affected them physically, mentally and financially. There were numerous issues looked by me and
one of the primary issues which I confronted was the hesitation of people to raise their voice due to fear of society,
because of which many voices were suppressed, but through our campaign, we supported people who wanted to have
a stand, providing them with a stage to let their voice out. Likewise, I became more acquainted with how the
introduction was made in the NGO. Additionally, how to connect with individuals through social media and not in
person, which can be at times difficult as through internet all our emotions cannot be completely conveyed.

This Internship also has been such a developing encounter for me. I've taken in the incentive in both value-based
encounters close by social encounters. I've figured out how widespread a great deal of my convictions is. Not every
person puts stock in what I do, however it's all around realized that you work more diligently when you have an
objective that you long for. I am so grateful to have had an opportunity to work as an intern here, especially while the
country is in most need to stop and recover from this pandemic.

Conclusion

To the conclusion I would like to mention about the great experience I received working at Elixir Foundation, which
not only helped me overcome my fear of standing up and taking initiative to speak aloud but also taught lot of new
facts about social stigmas and how they can disturb lives of people and how necessary it is to break out of them. All
in all, this internship was a valuable encounter. I have increased new information, abilities and met numerous new
individuals. I accomplished a few of my learning objectives, anyway for some the conditions didn't allow. I got
knowledge into proficient practice. I took in the various aspects of working inside a NGO. I encountered that
financing, as in numerous associations, is a significant factor for the advancement of activities. The internship was
additionally acceptable to discover what my qualities and shortcomings are. This pushed me to characterize what
abilities and information I need to improve in the coming time. It would be better that the information level of the
language is adequate to contribute completely to ventures. As many projects, this one started with some very basic
methods and procedures which are all but exciting and it took me some time to realize that I would also perform
some more advanced and non-standard methods
Learnings

To turn into a fruitful pioneer, one ought to boldly have the option to impart his thoughts and make various
methodologies as indicated by the evolving conditions is what I learned in this internship. I discovered that on the off
chance that if you can't convey well you can't gain anything in market. It is basic to make individuals informed what
you are doing and what they are going to pick up as everybody sees their very own benefit. Additionally, I
discovered that expert manners are must and it should to be pursued carefully. I was able to discover myself while
working with an NGO for the betterment of the society which played a significant role in building my
character as in inculcate in myself, eminent qualities like empathy, humility, patience, and optimism.
Moreover, having a chipping in work understanding on my resume can make my application stand apart
during my advanced education confirmation measures just as while I am applying for my next internship or
applying for my future job. aside from learning the significance of cooperation and authority while
volunteering away at an assortment of works running from educating to occasion the executives and leading
studies, volunteering aslo offered me with plentiful chances to learn and create both delicate and specialized
abilities.

Usefulness of the project to other parties

Before spreading mindfulness individuals even doesn't know which organs were given and when it was given. After
that we got constructive reaction from numerous individuals. It was a worth experience and see the change we
brought to the people, and especially to the nation and its government at large, as during the pandemic it is not even
easy for them to provide service and aid to the nation with more than 1300 million population.
The obvious benefit from interning for an NGO is that I’ve contributed to a social cause. My time and efforts will
help achieve something worthwhile, which can be hugely rewarding. It is a priceless experience. Although I’ve
working towards a cause instead of a profit, this doesn’t mean my experience will be less in-depth or challenging – or
less valuable for my future career. In fact, the opposite might be true.
Nonprofit organizations understand like no other how valuable time and skills are. Both financial and human
resources are often limited, so all support gets well used and hugely appreciated. This means we will have to use our
skills to the fullest, and possibly also explore other areas within the same organization. At a large company, your role
might be inflexible or feel insignificant. At an NGO, everyone is an important member of a team, and our all’s input
is heard and valued. This can be a rewarding and confidence-building experience.
