1. Assessment:
1. Check the hospital protocol and policy on infection
control.
2. Check all assembled materials/ equipment needed as
well as special items related to individual needs.

1. Performed proper surgical hand scrubbing
2. Inter the operating room with scrubbed hands and
should remained rising the hand and open the door
with your back.

3. Implementation:
1. Reach down to the opened sterile package and pick
up the towel directly as one, holding it away at all
times. Be careful not to touch sterile field with your
bare hands.
2. Step back and open towel full length holding one end
away from non sterile scrub attire. Bend slightly
forward to avoid towel touching the attire.
3. Dry both hands thoroughly by holding the sterile towel
in the opposite hand and using an oscillating motion
of the arm ( slow, circular rotating motion) from
fingers up to the elbow. Never return to an area you
already dried.
4. Carefully reverse the towel, still holding it away from
the body. Dry the opposite arm on the unused end of
the towel.
5. Discard the towel by dropping it .
6. Keep the hands in front and above waist level.
