Dear Selection Committee,

Leadership, involvement, and community engagement are all areas that I am ardently passionate
about. I have dedicated my entire time as a student seeking out these experiences to complement
my academic career. Because of this, I am incredibly interested in the Hall Director position
within the Rollins College Office of Residential Life and Explorations. I believe that in this
position I can apply my previous knowledge and experiences related to student engagement and
residential life to further the mission of the department by recognizing and serving the unique
needs of the Rollins College on-campus student population.

My extensive administrative, supervision, leadership development, ethical decision-making, and

organizational skills can be observed through the various experiences highlighted on my resume.
Serving as a Graduate Coordinator for Residence Life & Education at the University of Central
Florida (UCF) has been a monumental experience in my student affairs journey. I have had the
opportunity to directly supervise 12 phenomenal Resident Assistants, assist with the management
of a community of 1,000 residents, adjudicate approximately 35 student conduct cases, and co-
advise an area council with 15 dedicated student leaders.

My practicum in First Year Experience at UCF also afforded me numerous opportunities to

develop my assessment skills, public speaking abilities and interpersonal communication.
Through this position I was able to participate in several of UCF’s new student and family
programs, including co-hosting Family & Guest Orientation webinars, creating and distributing
assessment reports for these webinars to internal employees and external campus partners, and
observing and providing feedback for the Orientation Team small group breakout sessions.

I am invested in student involvement and community engagement and I truly believe these are
crucial to the success of any college student. For this reason, I want to bring my diverse
experiences and perspectives to the Hall Director position with the intent to further enhance the
experience of Rollins College students. I believe that my values, skills, and motivations are a
perfect match with the mission of the Office of Residential Life and Explorations and I look
forward to the chance of interviewing for this position.
