ROBLEM NO 1: Given the laboratory results of the Atterberg Limit Test,
plot the water content versus the number of blows in the given table.
a. Determine the nearest value to the liquid limit of the soil.

Ans: 45.35%

b. Determine the nearest value to the plastic limit of the soil.

Ans: 36.51 %

c. Determine the nearest value to the liquidity index of the soil.

Ans: PI = 45.35 – 36.51 = 8.84%

LI = ( 52.32 – 36.51 )/8.84 = 1.79 %

 PROB 2:
Given the same laboratory results of the Atterberg Limit Test, consider the
cone penetration test in the given table.
a. Determine the nearest value to the liquid limit of the soil.
Ans: 45.41%

b. Determine the nearest value to the plastic limit of the soil.

Ans: 36.51%

C. Determine the nearest value to the liquidity index of the soil.

Ans: PI = 45.41 – 36.51 = 8.9%

LL = (52.32 – 36.51)/8.9 = 1.78 %
