on an A4/A3 size sheet.
A sample has been given for your reference.
Show your own creativity.
2. A cylindrical jar is of height 12cm and has diameter 5 cm. Find the length of the longest
stick which can fit in the jar?
3. A farmer built a fence around his 17 cows in a square shaped region. He used 27 poles
on each side of the square. How many poles did he need altogether?
4. If all the dimensions of a one litre bottle are doubled, what will be the volume of the
new bottle?
5. Swati cuts out three equal semi-circular pieces from a sheet of paper. She then pastes
them together to form a design such that there is no overlap (as shown in the figure).
What is the perimeter of the shape (in cm)? [fig. 01]
6. Travelling only along the edges and covering a distance of exactly 22 cm, how many
different routes can be taken to go from corner P to corner Q of this cuboid? If l = 10 cm,
b = 4 cm & h = 8 cm. [fig. 03]
7. How many triangles and square are there in the following figure? [fig.02]

Q1. The polynomials (2x3 + x2- ax + 2) and (2x3- 3 x2 - 3x + a) when divided by (x -2) leave the
same remainder. Find the value of a.
Q2. Find the value of k for which (x 1) is a factor of the polynomial (2x3 + 9x2 + x + k).
(i) x3 - 3x2 - 9x - 5
(ii) 3x3 + 5x2 - 11x + 3
(iii) x3 - 23x2 + 142x - 120
Q5. If the polynomial 2x3 + ax2 + 7x – 6 is exactly divisible by (2x – 1), then find the value of a.
Hence, factorise the polynomial.
Q6. Verify if -2 and 3 are zeroes of the polynomial 2x3 - 3x2 – 11x + 6. If yes, factorise the
polynomial.
Q7. Find the area of a triangle whose two sides are 18cm and 10cm and the perimeter is 42cm.
Q8. The perimeter of an isosceles triangle is 32cm. If the ratio of its equal side to its base is
3:2, find the area of the triangle.
Q9. The perimeter of a triangle is 50cm. One side of the triangle is 4 cm longer than the
smallest side and the third side is 6cm less than twice the smallest side. Find the area of the
triangle.
Q10. A floral design on a floor is made up of 16 tiles, each triangular in shape having sides
16cm, 12cm and 20cm. Find the cost of polishing the tiles at `10 per square cm.
Q11. An umbrella is made by stitching 12 triangular pieces of cloth each measuring (50cm x
20cm x 50cm). Find the area of the cloth used in it.
Q12. Find the area of a rhombus one side of which measures 20cm and one of whose
diagonals is 24cm.
Q13. The three vertices of a square ABCD are A(3,2), B(-2,2) and D(3, - 3) . Plot these points on
a graph paper and hence, find the coordinates of C. Also find the area of the square ABCD.
Q14. Plot the points A(2, 5) B(-3, 1) and C(4, 1) on a graph paper and find the area of the
triangle formed by these points.
√

Revise Tables till 20 and learn the values of squares and square roots till 25.
E) SOCIAL SCIENCE
“We cannot stop disasters but we can arm ourselves with knowledge: so many lives wouldn’t
have to be lost if there was enough disaster preparedness.” – Petra Nemcova
“The Covid-19 pandemic could have a devastating impact on the livelihood and food security
of millions of people across India.”
Keeping the above statement in mind, prepare a project on COVID-19 as a Disaster and ways
to mitigate it in 18-20 pages as per the following guidelines:
Points to be covered-
What is a Disaster?
Types of Disaster
Coronavirus as a Disaster; people infected across the world & India
Its origin
How does it spread?
How long does it remain in human body?
Who is most at risk for it?
Symptoms of Novel Coronavirus
How is it diagnosed?
When should a person get tested for it?
Measures to prevent
Treatments/medications available for its prevention
Vaccines available – Foreign made/Indigenous, their efficacy
Importance of wearing face mask during pandemic; which mask to use
How to mitigate the situation if a person has – mild/moderate/severe symptoms
Steps that can be taken by Central government of India to ensure and tackle Food
security in India during this pandemic situation. [Refer to chapter-4 (Economics) Food
Security in India]
Ideally, your project should have the following elements:
Synopsis – It should include the purpose of the project .

individuals, such as your teachers, parents, friends, educational or research institutions.
Title page: Centre the project title, and put your name, address and school
Aim / Objective: The introduction sets the stage for your report. The aim includes your
hypothesis, an explanation of what prompted your research and what you hoped to achieve.
Methodology This section describes how you did the study. Describe in detail the
methodology used to collect your data or make your observations.
Conclusion: This section describes the findings and conclusion of the project. Briefly
summarize your results. Be specific, do not generalize. Never introduce anything in the
conclusion that has not been discussed.
