Point of View
For this case, Carlos Vinces' point of view was considered.
Vinces also have the control and accountability for the
majority of management decisions as the general
manager and a shareholder.

SYNOPSIS
Santos Timber Company is a logging firm owned by Mr. Alfredo Santos with his
business partner Carlos Vinces. The firm cut logs are hauled 23 kilometers to the
coast to be sold to an assembler-exporter. Since Mr. Santos left the province,
Vinces had the sole responsibility for most management decisions but still consult
Mr. Santos for all major decisions. The company acquired 3 reconditioned trucks
and expanded operations. This created new job positions and Vinces had no
difficulty in finding people because there are many experienced applicants
particularly in trucker’s job. Felix Cruz applied as a trucker but unfortunately
there was no job vacancy that time because the damaged truck would not be
operating for about a month and he was told that he will be informed when the
truck repairs were completed. In the following days, Vinces was surprised to see
Felix helping the company’s mechanic though he would not be paid for that. He also
passed the road test for a truck driver. Felix did great and he did his job very well.
He became the leader and spokesperson of the trucker’s and he even suggested his
efficient ideas and opinions to the company. Everything is okay not until Mr.
Santos visited his firm and he saw Felix Cruz, his chauffeur before he left the
province. Felix walked out on that day when the car stopped working and and Mr.
Santos got mad at him. That is Mr. Santos’s reason what he want Felix to be
dismissed from his company.
