The restaurant will serve Japanese cuisine in a space incorporating traditional Japanese and modern design elements. Special considerations for the design include allowing adequate social distancing, improving ventilation, and reducing furnishings to facilitate air flow, in order to make customers and employees safe amidst the pandemic. The overall concept is a Japanese-style space that also addresses current restrictions on capacity and safety protocols.

To start off, restaurants has become a neccessity in everyone’s life,
restaurants are famous around the world, also, restaurants’ primary function is to accommodate and serve food, and beverages to people outside the home. Restaurants have a wide range of selections, from 5-star restaurants, down to bistros and family style restaurants. But probably Fast food restaurants are widely known to be famous because of its budget friendly dishes and the customer services itself. However, as the pandemic struck the world, restaurants have taken a huge dip in sales, especially because walk-ins are not allowed during the first 6 months of the pandemic, as mass gathering in a place could worsen the situations, many restaurants, especially those chain restaurants, tried to adapt to the situation that majority of us are facing right now, but not all restaurants are ready for that kind of situation, in the year 2020 alone, people saw many restaurants permanently closed mainly due to bankruptcy. But as times go by, many restaurants came a new way to adapt and cope up with the situation, restaurants begin accepting deliveries, in that way, people in their homes could still enjoy their food without the risk of being infected by the virus, and also, as the year continues, while continuing deliveries, restaurants also began opening their place however, due to restrictions, restaurants only operates in less than 30% of the usual capacity during the pre-pandemic times.
As an architect of the restaurant, restaurants should be designed to have a
comfortable and spacious enough to accommodate customers and all its enployees while at the same time, it follows the mandatory safety measures (e.g Building Code). Also, looking at the country’s current situation today, majority of restaurants cannot operate at full capacity, restaurants are only allowed to operate atleast 30 - 40% of its pre-pandemic capacity, taking that into account, health and safety standards must also be present while keeping the relaxing ambiance of a restaurant. However, the design or the architectural approach rather, will be different, as stated earlier, restaurants today is not what it used to be, there are many restrictions due to the pandemic, and only few customers are allowed to enter the restaurant due to the said circumstances. There are twice as many variables to be considered when creating a space, especially restaurants, availability of delivery riders, ventilation inside the restaurant, how customers will behave, how will the interior design affect the traffice inside the working area, especially in the kitchen, and lastly, pursuing an environment that will make both the customers and employees safe.

2 II. Design Concept
The restaurant will serve mouthwatering, delicate, and famous Japanese
food, and also, will let the customers feel the ambiance as if they are in Japan. As for the design concept, traditional Japanese design mixed with a touch of modern design will be incorporated for the restaurant’s exterior design, while on the exterior, traditional Japanese design will be dominant in order for the customers to enjoy the relaxing ambiance of a traditional Japanese restaurant. Japanese interior design tends to give off minimalist vibes, which is best suited for the design problem as there will be less furnitures included inside the building, thus, it lessens the problem in ventilation, good ventilation is a critical component in designing a restaurant during these days, as poor ventilation can put both the customers and the restaurant employees in danger, because the virus is airborne, it is necessary to keep fresh air going through inside and outside the restaurant to lessen the threat of contaminating everyone inside the premises, especially in the kitchen. There are many circumstances in designing this restaurant, because given the current situation, people must keep atleast 6 feet away from each other in order to avoid close contact, and also to keep minimal contact with other people as much as possible to lessen the risk of passing the virus directly.
