THE COMPUTER

A computer is a machine that can be programmed to carry out sequences of arithmetic or logical operations
automatically. Modern computers can perform generic sets of operations known as programs. These
programs enable computers to perform a wide range of tasks.
OUTPUT DEVICES

An output device is any piece of computer hardware equipment which converts information into a human-readable form. It
can be text, graphics, tactile, audio, and video.
Some of the output devices are Visual Display Units (VDU) i.e. a Monitor, Printer graphic Output
devices, Plotters, Speakers etc. A new type of Output device is being developed these days, known as Speech synthesizer, a
mechanism attached to the computer which produces verbal output sounding almost like human speeches.
INPUT DEVICES

In computing, an input device is a piece of equipment used to provide data and control signals to
an information processing system, such as a computer or information appliance. Examples of input devices
include keyboards, mouse, scanners, cameras, joysticks, and microphones.
