RUBRIC & GUIDELINES
UNIT 3 Written Work 3

The primary goal of Unit 3 is to facilitate learners with the essential skills in resume writing,
letter writing for college application, for employment and various forms of office
correspondence. You are to demonstrate how well you can document your career’s
background and skills using a chosen format when writing a college application letter.
Also, you are to demonstrate how well you can discuss your admission in your University
or College of choice. Your task is to make a well-written and substantial college
application letter to promote and sum up your qualifications, capabilities and
personality.

Guidelines for College Application Letter:


1. Your written work 3 for Finals is to write a concise and well-written college
application letter.
2. The content of the college application letter should be as realistic as possible and
should relate to your resume.
3. The prompt and content of the admission letter should revolve on this one specific
idea:
“Now that you have finished your senior high school, it is time for you to look for a
college/university where you wish to take your college degree. Where would you
want to be enrolled in”?
4. Given the prompt, research for the school that you want to enroll in and provide
the necessary details needed for the parts of college application letter.
5. Provide your active cellphone number in your college application letter as this will
be used for the phone interview (Performance Task).
6. Use a Full-blocked style in writing your letter.
7. Follow the format in writing a college application letter:
a. Paper size: 8.5” x 11”
b. Font Style: Times New Roman
c. Font Size: 12
d. Margin: 1 inch (all sides)
e. Orientation: Portrait
8. The filename should be saved in this format: Section_Last Name_Application Letter
example: Andlauer_Andaya_Application Letter.PDF
9. This will be an individual task.
10. Submission of output is via E-Class during your A-mode session.
11. This written work is equivalent to 30 points.
