Topic: “Do we follow ‘trends’ blindly?

Humans are social animals, and trend-following appears most drastically in our youth and
early middle age, when we are most self-conscious about our social standing. We are all
influenced by thing we see in our everyday lives, including the media. Not many of us have
the buoyancy to stand out and be the leader of the pack, but there are some people who
have the confidence to do so.
Now a days, social media especially Tiktok (A Chinese video-sharing social networking
application) and Facebook are the major source of trends which become viral among the
youth and our youth follow these trends blindly without knowing the deleterious effects of
those trends. One of the trend that followed by the youth is committing suicide after posting
status on Facebook and other trend that followed by the youth comes from the Tiktok,
which is having a costly Iphone mobile and make Tiktok videos by using that iphone. For
getting that costly phone to follow the Tiktok trends, many children misbehaves with their
parents and even menace their parents to commit suicide if their demands are not fulfilled.
These threats will put their parents in a mental as well as financial pressure. Many people
also lost their lives due to accidents while making Tiktok videos for following the viral trends
that finally led them into the mouth of death. In last month, a video also gone viral on
facebook, in which an Indian girl committed suicide and she recorded her statement that
why she is committing suicide.
In conclusion, It is most obvious that people wants to follow what is trending now a days
whether its social media, fashion or even deadly stunts to make themselves more unique or
appealing but these type of trends in which people are spreading negative actions, unethical
demands and unnecessary stuff are very harmful for them as well as for the society. After
finding out the whys and wherefores behind these cases, parents should take action and
always aware with their children’s activities and social life. The robust family affection may
shrink the happening of the related cases.
