What are DDE devices?

Direct data entry devices are input devices that read data from a
source that’s provided and transferred it directly to the computer
system. You do not need to enter the information manually. These
devices are used when large volumes of data must be entered into
the computer quickly. There are various DDE devices available. As
with manual input devices, different DDEs are suitable for different
purposes.
