Problem Based Learning Model in Virtual Environment Class
Problem Based Learning Model in Virtual Environment Class
Abstract
Method. This systematic review was conducted using the Preferred Reporting Items for
Systematic Reviews and Meta-analyses (PRISMA) statement. Relevant articles were searched
and collected using the search engines Science direct, Google Scholar, Proquest, Pubmed, and
Wiley online Library, with a publication time span between 2010 to 2021.
Results. The search returned 1,678 articles; after removing the duplicated articles, there were
731 articles remaining, of which 724 articles were removed after screening of titles and abstracts.
The remaining 10 articles were reviewed and checked for eligibility, so 3 articles were excluded.
The final results were collected as many as 7 articles that met the inclusion criteria.
Conclusion. The PBL Model encourages students to learn through participation, practice
problem solving skills individually, and exchange ideas with other members of a group. The
virtual environment involves many forms of media and materials that stimulate students' interest
in learning and result in higher satisfaction. The gap in communication channels between
students and teachers is reduced due to easier and more informal communication.
