Since I only recently “completed” this series, I would have to recommend watching them

how I did :) based somewhat on their release dates (the bolded series showcase the best
watch order):

 Fate/Zero (13 episodes) — 2011

 Fate/Zero S2 (12 episodes) — 2012
 Fate/Stay Night (24 episodes) — 2006
o Fate/Stay Night: Unlimited Blade Works Prologue — 2014
o Fate/Stay Night: Unlimited Blade Works (12 episodes) —
2014
o Fate/Stay Night: Unlimited Blade Works S2 (13 episodes) —
2015
 Fate/Stay Night Movie: Heaven’s Feel — I. Presage Flower — 2017
 Fate/Stay Night Movie: Heaven’s Feel — II. Lost Butterfly — 2019
 Fate/Stay Night Movie: Heaven’s Feel — III. Spring Song — 2020
When I got to Fate/Stay Night, I began with the 2006 version, then I watched through the
Unlimited Bladeworks series to see the difference between them. I believe simply choosing
one storyline over the others isn’t really valid because then you miss a lot of the
potential/explanations of the series; however, if you are just looking to watch it though, the
bolded series will be plenty to watch.

(I personally like  this answer  as it explains more thoroughly where they split.)

After that, you are welcome to watch the spin-offs in whichever order you would like
because, from what I understand, these three (Zero, Bladeworks, and Heaven’s Feel) are the
core of the series. I will say that I liked Fate/Apocrypha as it kept the grail’s history intact, as
it built up new characters and a team-based play instead. Meanwhile, Fate/Grand Order felt
rather insulting and out of pace with the rest in its franchise.
