Well first of all, the main thing you need to know is that family life in the past differ

from family life nowadays, its smaller than the past. In fact, there were advantages
and disadvantages to being a member of a large family in the past. In my opinion, the
advantages outweighed the disadvantages.Firstly, the fact that the children in a family
played with each other, means that they could improve their social experience.
Secondly, different generations lived together, thus grandparents could take care of
their grandchildren. Moreover, younger brothers learned many things from their elder
brothers. A side from advantages, being a member of a large family has some
disadvantages. Interestingly, I think all disadvantages are came from financial
problems. Firstly, one of the parents could not work, due to the fact that he or she had
to stay at home to look after the children and grandparents. This mean the family
earned less money. As a result, parents had less money to pay for their children’s
education and activities. However, in my view, the biggest problem was that parents
could not pay so much attention to invidual children. As a result, children with
problems sometime suffered. The fact that the families had less money, but family
members formed a strong relationship and they supported and helped each other when
they had problems. So actually, anyone in families was never be alone.
