Community Policing as Scouting for legalize undeclared trophies, of a Museum,
managed by Ahmedabad Zoo of Municipal Corporation:
Declaration of Wild Animals / Articles / trophies etc. of Schedule I or Part II of
Schedule II of Wildlife (Protection) Act, 1972:
Further the Central Govt. with an aim to provide opportunity for declaring the
wild animals / Articles / Trophies etc in possession of any person who could not
declare the same previously, issued a notification on 18th April 2003 to make
such declaration to the Chief Wild Life Warden of the state within 180 days of
the date of issue of the notification. This period of declaration has lapsed on17th
October, 2003. Therefore all the wild animals / Articles / Trophies, which were
not declared within the prescribed period under the Act have become illegal and
unauthorized.

freedoms for animals, visited Kamla Nehru Zoological Garden Kankaria,
Ahmedabad: Reuben David Natural History Museum and observed that all the
trophies of wild animals and birds with foetus, seems to be very old, before 1972,
might be not properly declared, granted ownership by a competent Authorities,
now Chief Wildlife Warden of Gujarat, along with wildlife wing of Gujarat
Police and official of Ahmedabad Zoo, may sit together and legalize, all
objectionable items.

Animal Welfare Party: AWP, 1st Political Party in India, for animals and birds,
including migratory birds, restoring their 5 freedoms, and revision of the
definition of goods, being living creatures, have feelings of pain and sufferings.
As per section 2(39) of the Wild Life (Protection) Act, 1972:
Zoo, means an establishment, whether stationary or mobile, where captive
animals are kept for exhibition to the public and includes a circus and rescue
centres but does not include an establishment of a licensed dealer in captive
animals.
As per section 2(31) of the Wild Life (Protection) Act, 1972:
Trophy, means the whole or any part of any captive animal or wild animal, other
than vermin, which has been kept or preserved by any means, whether artificial
or natural, and includes:
(a). Rugs, skins and specimens of such animal mounted in whole or in part
through a process of taxidermy, and
(b). Antler, bone, carapace, shell, horn, rhinoceros horn, hair, feather, nail,
tooth, tusk, musk, eggs, nests and honeycomb.
(32) Uncured trophy, means the whole or any part of any captive animal or wild
animal, other than vermin, which has not undergone a process of taxidermy, and
includes a freshly killed wild animal, ambergris, musk and other animal
products.
As per official website of the Ahmedabad zoo, some wild animals and birds,
trophies are seen, which may not approved under the declaration of Wild Life
Stock Rules, 2003, duly applied as per section 4(2), the application under sub
rule (1) shall be presented in four complete sets within a period of one hundred
and eighty day from the date of publication of these rules.
AWP, desired to visit of the Zoo, in good faith, scanning undeclared, trophies of
the wild animal and birds, exposing their source of procurement, use and
ownership, 5 freedoms of animals, as well.
