MASTER TILES & CERAMIC INDUSTRIES LIMITED
Brief History:
Sheikh Muhammad Tufail held metric certificate. After leaving the school, he went under training with a
local crockery manufacturing unit and remained there for about two years.

In 1961, he set up a new unit under the name of “Sheikh Brothers Industries” at Multan. The unit was
engaged in manufacturing of stainless steel pots; later on the production of dinner sets made of melamine
was also started, under the brand name of “Master Melamine Dinner Sets”.

In 1973, the facilities of this unit were shifted to Gujranwala from Multan.

In 1980, Mr. Tufail set up another unit under name of “Eurasia Washing Machine” at G.T. Road
Gujranwala. The main products of the units are washing machine and room air coolers. This unit was a
success due to untiring efforts of Mr. Tufail.

In 1982, Master Industries was established. This unit is also located at G.T. Road Gujranwala and is
engaged in the manufacturing of complete range of bathroom sanitary fittings. The performance of this
unit is commendable.

In 1987 Mr. Tufail set up a new unit to manufacture bathroom accessories under the name of Master Poly
Plastic Industries Ltd. Gujranwala.

In 1992, the project with the name of Master Tiles and Ceramic Industries Limited was instituted.

1995

At a time when the market was flooded with imported wall tiles as the only quality option, as they called
it, Master once again took the lead. Based on the world’s top of the line Italian technology, Master
launched its range of double fast fired wall tiles. Far superior in quality and aesthetic values than
imported ones, Master tiles took the market by storm and instantly gained a major share of the market.

2000
Master tiles were such a tremendous hit in the market, to meet the increasing demands, production
capacities had to be tripled in the year 2000. Same year, Master added up world’s best plant and acquired
best recipes for in house production of tiles raw materials including frits and colors. These advanced
recipes in frits and colors resulted in giving an entire new look to the product appearance, quality and
finish. Adding endless possibilities to the imagination of our

valued customers, Master introduced a range of decorative tiles including strips, trims, motives,
decorative tiles including strips, trims, motives, panels and mosaics.

2005:

Master Granite Tiles! Bringing a true revolution in the tile industry, this was the year when Master
proudly introduced Granite tiles, which were by their quality standards, second to none in the world. The
years that followed witnessed an innovative approach setting new benchmarks in product quality, range
spread, availability through a wider network and a bundle of value added services like customer
awareness and guidance campaigns, unmatched after sales service and complaint handling.

2010:

Customer Focus:

At turn of the decade, Customer orientation remains the key word in all our plans and executions.
Reaching at the doorstep of our customers, wherever they are, we are making sure we are closer to their
needs, aspirations, affordability and after sales expectations.

In 2011, Mr. Akbar set up a new project under the head of Master Poly Plastic Industries namely PPRC
and is working efficiently.

2018:

Master tiles installed a new production plant of Granit Tiles with the capacity of 25,000 SQM per day.

Master tile was in monopoly in tiles at that time but know, there are many competitors of master tile in
Pakistan who are producing quality tiles like Sonex, Shabbir tiles, Karam, Ecmo and imported tiles
especially form china.

technology in technical collaboration with Italy for manufacturing of tiles. Master Group has dealers all

Master Tiles Company has their own showrooms for selling their products. They increase their
sales by displaying products in different shops.

Master tiles also distribute their products on the doorstep of their customers but charge extra
money for delivering them at doorstep.

Legal Structure of Business:

Incorporated in 1992, Master Tiles & Ceramic Industries Limited (herein referred to as “the
company” or “Master Tiles”) is a Public Unlisted Company

under the Repealed Companies Ordinance, 1984 (now Companies Act, 2017).

Industry Analysis:
Master tiles has been in a stable position for few years because of the political factors it is neither
declining nor growing. Master Tiles Installed Capacity being increased from 11mln square
meters to 19mln square meters in FY18.

In ceramic market, master tiles is holding a bright future because of its good quality and unique
designs of products. As the company has earned goodwill so now it has gained the trust of
people. Master tiles is also exporting their products to other countries and they have a strong
position in Pakistan.

In Pakistan demographic factors like income level of people is increasing. Due to which their

Social factors are affected lifestyle. These can change over time. The Master Tile adopt rapidly
change in lifestyle of the people and produce according to the taste of the people. Our Research

& Development department do his assignment very efficiently.

Technology Factors :-

Technology rapidly change with the passage of time only those industries are surviving who
adopt the change in technology. The Master Tiles also focused on the technology. Master Tile
installed the Italian production plant and frequently change if any. Recently, Master Tile have
installed a new Italian production plant in the name of Unit 03 with the production capacity of
25,000 SQM per day.
