‫‪The Industrial Advisory Board is responsible for advising on the overall strategic direction of the‬‬
‫‪college in terms of its constituencies, especially of industrial partners and graduates. The Board advises‬‬
‫‪the College Council and/or academic departments on potential changes to mission and on program‬‬
‫‪opportunities in the industrial field.‬‬

Industrial Advisory Board: Profile ‫التعريف‬

In accordance with the provisions of Jazan University, Baish Community College is responsible for
offering education at the associate degree level to provide graduate level career opportunities to
potential technicians. In this context, the College offers study programs in academic education, trains
future technicians in engineering disciplines and propagates knowledge for the benefit of society. The
College aims to achieve recognition as a leading community college at the national level with emphasis
on the industrial environment of Jazan. This ambition has been expressed in a series of college-wide
institutional plans, the last of which is the 2017-2021 strategic plan.

The Advisory Board is responsible for issuing advice to the College Council. More specifically, the
Board is charged with the following duties:

1- Bring specialist expertise where appropriate regarding the implementation of improvement

measures in the context of industrial partners and college programs.

2- Review the strategic and operational plans of the college

3- Provide independent opinion and be available to consultation on the strategic directions,

educational character  and mission of the college

4- Offer input of technical knowledge to college advisory program evaluation committees, which
allows up to date industrial relevance of the academic programs.

 5- Review and advise on the informal evaluation of graduate skills and results

6- Add value to the system of quality assurance through the review of continuous improvement
initiatives relating to academic programs (PAEC).

The Board consists of six members appointed by the College. Representatives will be drawn from each
of the three industries represented in the academic programs of the college. In addition to the Dean,
there should also be representation from Jazan University that allows administrative insight into the
strategic directions of the university. Initial appointments will stand for up to three years. During this
time period, the Board will meet three times per year.

The composition of the Advisory Board takes into account the background of the above-mentioned
tasks and the profile of the college. In this context, it is essential that Board members possess the broad
industrial expertise in engineering required to adequately exercise their responsibilities. It should be
noted that the objective is to ensure that the members of the Board collectively possess an optimal
combination of knowledge, experience and skills in the field of engineering and training.

The members of the Advisory Board are expected to collectively possess the following:

1- The industrial expertise required to understand, interpret and assess the academic program
educational outcomes in terms of industrial needs;

2- Knowledge of current developments in academic education in the various industrial fields

currently represented in the academic programs, research and knowledge transfer, both on the

3- Ample demonstrable experience in advising, leading and/or supervising positions in industry or

1- Be able to assess the main aspects of the College‘s policy on program improvement on the basis
of information provided to this end by the college administration and academic departments and
through periodic work visits to various units within the institution
