Preliminary Technical Data
LAMINATING EPOXY
CUSTOM
MIXING
Combine the M1040 Resin with M2016 Hardener following the ratios by weight or by volume
shown in the table. Stir the mixture thoroughly and transfer to a reservoir for the impregnation
process.
CURING
This custom formulated product maintains its liquid state until curing at a minimum of 100°C.
Additional post curing at 150°C is required to further cure the epoxy.

The cure schedule may be modified to optimise performance and the following table shows
the Tg, as measured by Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC) and Dynamic Mechanical
Thermal Analysis (DMTA) for a typical cure schedule.
Typical physical properties for cast specimens with no reinforcement, obtained using a cure
schedule of 2 hours @ 100°C + 16 hours @ 150°C, are shown below.
Physical Property
Tensile Strength 38.3 MPa
Tensile Elongation 1.7 %
Tensile Modulus 2.6 GPa
Flexural Strength 88.6 MPa
Flexural Modulus 2.9 GPa
Compressive Strength 109.1 MPa
Shore D Hardness 86
