 JUSTIFICATION

The software can be divided into two types: system programs, which control
the operation of the computer itself, and application programs which
perform the real tasks that the user wants.

The operating system is the software that controls all the computer resources
and provides the basis over which could be written application programs.

This course covers the fundamental concepts of operating systems,

processes, interprocess communication, planification of processes, input /
output, memory management, file systems as well as safety and protection
mechanisms.
