Training Management in Corporate Organization

Every task done by employees requires up-to-date skills and know-how to do the job

efficiently and effectively. As tasks become more and more complex, training and

development is required. Organizations must provide training and development to

employees in order to survive. Training is a process that helps develop employees'

knowledge and skills to advance and change their performance in the workplace.

The training provides awareness of the basic information needed to perform a

particular job, the knowledge to improve job performance, and the skills to

demonstrate employee competence. Training is only considered effective when it

fills a knowledge/skill gap, preparing future employees with a new set of skills.

A company's human resource management strategies are now seen as a critical

business advantage over its competitors, especially in today's turbulent environment.

Of all HR strategies, training is often considered the heart of the HR department. At

the same time, the education and training of employees is seen as one of the central

challenges of organizations, especially in developing countries since the decisive

capital of any organization is its employees [1].

Training is important not only from an organizational point of view, but also for

employees. It gives them greater employment security and the opportunity to grow

professionally. The skills acquired through training are the assets of the organization

and its employees. The benefits of training remain for a very long time. Hidayat said

that [3]; Employee performance can be improved by implementing additional training

and education for the employees involved. Since the training and higher education

carried out provide the employees with additional knowledge about the tasks and

employees skills in the performance of their tasks in the organization in which the

employee is active or works. So, education and training are the whole process and

method of teaching and learning to impart knowledge in order to improve the skills

and job skills of a person or group of people according to their field of work. Julifan

states [4], “There is a change in the behavior of training participants in doing work

that has a significant effect on improving performance in their respective work units".

The purpose of the training according to Kusumah [6] is to improve employee

knowledge, skills and attitudes as well as improve the quality and productivity of the

organization, in other words the aim of the training is to improve performance and in

turn increase competitiveness.

Training Management System

The training management system is a part of human resource management and

plays an important role in running the main operation. Most organizations can gain a

competitive advantage if they apply the correct information systems to their

organization. In addition, the proposed system implementation can help an

organization improve business processes and reduce training operating costs to

gain a competitive advantage over other companies. After implementing the

proposed system, all the information will be kept in one place so that the proposed
system can provide valuable information to all levels of training of the employees of

the organization in one place. []

According to Richard J. McCowan, the CDHS training management system consists

of a set of practical and systematic processes for managing and evaluating training

programs. It is a comprehensive model that meets the necessary criteria for

competency-based training, namely: Clear job descriptions and program results.

Needs analysis based on job competencies. Structured hierarchy of domains,

competencies, and objectives. Assessment of student performance after the test

against clear criteria. OJT remedial training and tutoring to ensure students have

mastered essential material. The system clearly communicates how its objectives

are being achieved and clarifies the relationships that exist between objectives,

processes and results. It describes how assessment measures are designed,

implemented, and provides an and utilized and provides an iterative cycle of

development, testing, and redesign [2]. A training management system 'TMS' will be

developed to provide the efficiency and effectiveness needed to improve the

organization's training strategies. As a strategic planning and training management

system within a company, TMS can link organizational goals to employees,

managers and training departments, providing a portfolio of courses available (and

related), self-registration and event notifications, and content for e-learning. Format.

The system is also capable of managing registrations, as well as course content,

schedules and tracking through the web application.
