2.3.1 Multiply in the range of basic facts
LEARNING STANDARDS
In the end of the class, pupils will be able to:
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
1. Multiply one digit number with one digit correctly

Pupils can:-
SUCCESS CRITERIA 1. Solve at least three questions involving basic multiplication correctly

Pre-lesson:-
1. Pupils recall previous lesson on multiplication

Activities:-
1. Teacher introduces the terms and symbols related to multiplication
2. Teacher emphasizes that multiplication is the repeated addition
3. Pupils conduct simulation activity; collecting objects in an equal amount to build
number sentences (HOTS)
4. Teacher shows how to do multiplication by 1, as on page 81, textbook
PDPC ACTIVTIES 5. Teacher gives questions based on the examples in the textbook, page 81
6. Pupils check the answers using repeated addition
7. Teacher divides the pupils into pairs. Each pair gets different question cards. Pupils
discuss and solve the problems using real objects (21st CA)
8. Pupils share their answers and problem solving steps with other pairs (21st CA)
9. Pupils answer the given questions in the exercise book (CBA)

Post-lesson:-
1. Teacher and pupils make conclusion for today’s lesson
